Looking for a folder with Bowie style blade

I get the whole hunting thing and the orange makes it pop. I may have to see it in person

I was sure back in the 1980/90s. Back when I bought my first CS Voyager they were called Clip Points. If I look through Cold Steels catalog archives from 1988 to 2014 I won't see their clip point folders ever called "Bowie". Anyone who is into the original "Bowie Knife" knows they were fixed blades. But I was just wondering if the terminology use had changed,

That's interesting.

I always assumed a Bowie was that particular curved swedge cut.

Not to detract from the question, but isn't a "Bowie Knife" always a fixed blade? And aren't Folders that have Bowie styled blades called "Clip Points"?
Or has that changed over the years?

Nope. Even in the Bowie era, many Bowies were folders. Large, ornate folders with guards.

And there are also the Folding Bowie/D'Estaing Daggers...the ones where the blades extend longer than the length of the handle and are designed to be used open and closed.

That is very interesting. Any photos or links to such old folding bowies would be appreciated.

I was going to do that, but those Bowie era folding Bowies are pretty scarce, and I would have had to poach pics off auction sites.

Look for antique Sheffield folding Bowies....many have double guards, horse head (or half horse, half alligator...rare!) pomells. Fancy, stabby looking things.

Another recommendation for the Espada.
This is the smallest , it is very easy to carry in the pocket.

Spyderco schemp bowie is the one that did it for me.

Also the newly released benchmade crooked river is in my sites for the same reason.

Wow thanks everyone! Now I want a couple of these :/ the croc dude Bowie would be neat! Too many choices!!!

SOG Tomcat. One of the best knives available prior to 1990. Sog has a few eye catchers from back then that are still around these days, but the tomcat is what immediately came to mind
Kershaw shallot is a good solid performer and has the looks as well
