Looking for a good, yet unique edc

I, for one, heartily agree that the tanto modded Buck 110 would be unique in an epic fashion!

Order something specific from a region of France, Italy, Germany... Lots of great unique looking EDC's to choose from.

Benchmade Griptillian, or Barrage(if you are ok with assisted). Comes in varying colors and a tanto blade. A bit over $100 but fits your requirements

Buck Marksman in tanto. Unique design, good steel, strong lock fast deployment, and it even looks interesting too! Best of all, it should come in under $100.

A French Laguiole would be a good place to look. Originally the Shepherd's knife, there are now 1000's of versions to choose from. Google Laguiole for a vast array.

I have a Buck 722 Slimline which is Walmarts version of the 721 Spitfire, they're both the same but the Slimline is more ergo. Anyway for what you're asking I think it's up your alley. The blade isn't a tanto, but it's thick and can handle a good level of abuse. One caveat is mine has a small amount of up and down play. I understand the newer ones fixed that. For around 35 bucks it'll take a beating and at the price your heart or wallet won't be broke if you over do prying on something or lose it. Mind you would have to really force this thing to do any damage to the blade. A tanto style may be stronger, but not by much and the 722 appears to be able to open mail easier than a tanto.

You own a collection of knives you don't use. What do you want from your next knife that the ones you now own do not fulfill? Knowing this will help to narrow the choices.
Best answer to OP so far.

Of course, QC and other variables will always determine the knife you finally get, but these are some affordable, sturdy tanto folders out there

One of the nicest tanto blades I have is an Mcusta Katana. Excellent EDC!!
I paid ~ $120 for mine.

Actually, the 721 is the Slimline and the 722 is the Spitfire. I have the Spitfire and really like it. The local Walmart here never has the 721, but if I ever see one I might have to pick it up to compare it to my 722. The Spitfire is really easy to sharpen. It takes an edge well. I find it fantastic to hold. It's real comfortable in my hand. The Spitfire is so nice and light that I often times forget I even have it in my pocket. There is very slight up and down play in the blade with my Spitfire, too, when it's locked open. However, it is so slight that I don't even notice it unless I force it up and down. Probably the coolest thing about the Spitfire is the pocket clip can be moved anyway you want it. It can be placed so the knife is tip up or down, right or left handed. For me, the thumb hole works great. With the hole, the knife can even be flicked open for very quick opening if you need to.

I am aware that it's not a tanto blade, but the CRKT fossil is a unique EDC knife. I just got one and have been carrying it for about two weeks. It is a great little knife.
