Looking for a knife shop in the LA area

Is there a good knife shop in the LA area? I'd like to check out some knives first hand before ordering.

Not sure what you mean by that. Let me clarify... I would like a local shop that I can buy from. Now, I order without seeing the knife first. If the shop had the knife in stock, I'd rather buy instead of ordering.

Only one I can think of would be Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa, but that's OC territory not LA.

Thanks bf for the info. That's a bit of drive, but I'll look it up when I'm down that way.

I've heard good things about Ross Cutlery in La from some of the guys at the Bass Pro Shop out in Rancho. Never been myself as it's a bit of a drive but they recommended it. Other than that, they also recommended Advance Cutlery in Arcadia. Again, I've never been but they're also a bit closer than Costa Mesa so if you have the opportunity check it out and let us know how they are!

And yeah I'm with you I definitely like going to knife shops and handling blades and talking with staff. It's a much more fun experience than just click click buy buy on the computer.
