Hey BF,

I'm looking for looking for a new EDC. This knife can't rip pockets, sleek(handle can't be too thick) anything under 3.5 inches, handle must be long enough to get a full grip, under 4.5 oz. The knife must have a flipper that will act as a deep finger choil.

I thought the same thing about the 0450CF, my does not fit perfectly, but it isn't uncomfortable at all. (I wear large size gloves)

Can you fit all your fingers on it? My hands are also a large

Southern Grind Spider Monkey is nice.

Blade is 3.25 inches, weight is around 3 ounces and fits your price range nicely.

I find that the finger choil is in the right spot for me, it indexes well and really provides a secure grip and good hand position whilst cutting stuff. Carbon fiber is great.

Whitty from USA Made Blade has some, and I think he'll even anodize the titanium liners if you ask him. I think...

The ZT 0450 is very close to the 940 in term of dimensions and feeling in the hand
I have medium size hands and both fit me well as light EDC

Griptilians large or small can also be considered, just as the PM2

For me the PM2 is the best if you don't look for a urban EDC as is it quite a substantial knife (size, not weight)

I like the Spider Monkey suggestion. I was also thinking maybe the new ZT0460. I know the blade shape is different but the handle fits the hand well and it is fun to flip!

The Zt 0460 might just be a little too much out there for me haha. BTW, have you heard anything about the SOG Banner? It was suppose to be released in March?

I got to mess with a prototype our rep had and thought it was OK but was not over impressed. I did not like the blade play and the price point I thought was high for an aluminum handled knife.

Oh blade play... that is not what you want to hear on a knife that is getting up there in price for a SOG. I just know I was a fan of the Sog Zoom until the lack of a finger choil made me hand slip and give me a decent cut. Good to know the recurve does work really well... just wish it wasn't on my hand haha. Then again, the zoom was also a lot cheaper.

The 450 is a wonderful knife. The design really shines through as a knife, geometry, flow, svelte weight, smooth but enough resistance. It might feel small if one tried to squeeze his/her hand into the indent between guard and pommel end. The hand will grip more comfortably with the pinky outside in back of the butt. Another resistance point.

Its a very pleasing design in hand and still has traction points. An ideal EDC, IMO.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Spyderco Domino.

The Mantra 1 and 2 and Gayle Bradley Advocate are nice as well.

The Spider Monkey as others suggested is a great, lightweight knife. Also look at the Three Sisters Forge Beast. Great, very stout 3" folder, yet under your weight limit.

Here are pics of the Domino, Beast, Spider Monkey with my other knives for size comparison.

I'd have to say PM2, but I'm assuming you already own one.

I do haha. For me the Pm2 is just an awkward size... It is pretty much the exact same size closed as a XM-18 and has a smaller blade etc. So I find myself leaning towards the XM-18 over the pm2. Maybe if I got it with CF scales so it didn't also rip my pocket I could justify a use for it.

If u don't care about deployment. Under $15 and sharp. This is what I now carry after losing two benchmades.

I believe Benchmade Crooked river is supposed to be coming out in 3.5 soon. If you can handle a bit longer the 0452 ZT is just an amazing knife.
