looking for a new knife...

the endura looks pretty big... is 3.8" too long for an edc? is it bulky in the pocket?

The endura is about as thick and long as a pen. It sits flat in my pocket, and causes no discomfort. The delica is preferred more for edc, but the endura can also double for SD, although at your age I wouldn't recommend it.

I propose you come up with $30.00 more, and look into a ZT0200, or a ZT0400. These are knives built for hard duty. They aremade by Kershaw, here in the USA.:D

Jon,

I just had a different, out of the box idea about the neck knife you're drooling over:
don't buy it and rather, for the same budget, take the prettiest girl in your class to the movies. Your treat.
It just might be that it will be a much better investment :-)

If you like knives you'll find this to be a perpetual problem.

You seem to be sending two messages regarding your desire for a neck knife. On the one hand you claim you want it for self defense, but when anyone tries to give you advice about not carrying it, you turn around and say it's going to be a collectible only.

over those three posts i seem to be slowly changing my mind on the subject, considering not one person said it was a good idea. i certainly wasn't sending mixed messages.

i think the endura is a good choice, all. thanks so much for the help... i was so close to buying the tilite or hissatsu.

Yeah :( Didn't realize the OP was from CA. Oops!

Me neither. I was speaking for myself. I guess it's coincidence that he's from CA as well lol

You'll be very happy. And if you choose the Wave, that's a lot of fun, too lol

For EDC, I definitely wouldn't get a Ti-Lite. I think I said that already, though lol

Enjoy whatever you choose

if u want a knife that is a workhorse then u should probally go with the new ka-bar fin folder or the old ka-bar mule, but i wouldnt recomend the mule because most of them don't have clips.

The Hissatsu' good for flesh and shaving bark/sticks but it just doesn't feel like a REAL tough user ya know. It's not a "bad" knife at all just if you like to do a little beating on it I personally like wider blades or for getting a ridiculous edge I also prefer a different knife. I will tell you this as one of the things about my opinion has changed a bit; the steel while wont get as sharp as some others, it does hold it's edge pretty damn well when you get the geometry right. If you decide in the future to get a soft material knife or gentle use it is a neat little inexpensive deal for that. It's one of those things where you get your "big dogs" 1st then when you feel an urge to spend a little bit of money on something new and cheap you go for the Hissatsu, IMO.

why don't you look at the CRKT m4, m16, m21, or my tighe - they are solid working knives that don't look extremely viscious for around 50 bucks and then you have $50 to take a few girls out :D:thumbup:

What do you think of that idea?
