Looking for a sleek, aluminum-handled knife. Choices?

Hello all,

EDIT: knife needs to be a folder. Can also be a stainless steel handle.

I am looking for a sleek-looking, aluminum handled knife, with at least a 3.25" blade. Kind of like a Ken Onion Leek but with a "wider" looking blade (i.e. the blade on the Leek seems almost like a stilleto point, whereas I am looking for a blade like the one on the Buck/Mayo TNT - hope that makes sense.) Must be under $60. I don't mind if it's a bit "heavy," as I like a bit of heft to my knives. The steel doesn't have to be top of the line (and at my price maximum, it won't be) but it shouldn't be some bottom of the barrel steel, either.

Any ideas?

Hi!

Maybe a CRKT M21 (Aluminum Handle, 3.94 in. Blade) from Knifeworks will be a good choice...

Would a spyderco police fit your criteria? You can find them around I think for about 70 dollars.

Benchmade Monochrome? Not quite the blade profile you want but otherwise it's close.

Does BenchMade still make the 940 series with the aluminum handles? If so, check those out.

SS Delica.

New one has 4 clip positions, instead of just 2.

I don't need the extra 2, so I prefer not to have holes drilled all over my stainless handles, though... I'll stick with my older model. You can still find 'em.

Peace.

M16/M21 from CRKT

Kershaw Storm is really great...make sure it has good lockup though

Those are both really affordable, but really, don't let price stop you...going up to 120ish opens up a world of options...just save a few more months.

I would say that the CRKT M-16 or M-21 are great choices in that price range.

You really can't go wrong with the Benchmades and Spyderco's mentioned either.

Yea i would also go for the CRKT M-21. I have one and the blade is def. a beast for a folder and it has some weight behind it too.

If your price limit was a little higher I would recommend this one also. The 94x series from Benchmade is a real winner and now they come with an s30v blade standard.

Spyderco's Byrd line is hard to resist at the price. All SS handles and in a variety of lengths, with 440C equivalent steel for about $20US.

Sleek and metal with a stout blade? Sounds like an Spyderco Endura SS to me. :D

Thank you all for the great responses!

It looks like it's down to:

Spyderco Endura SS - $50
Buck Mayo Northshore - $58

I love the all metal look for the Endure, but the blade of the Northshore looks better aesthetically to me. The Endure is about 2x heavier, but I handled a Buck/Mayo TNT and it seemed REALLY light (almost like it was too light, making it feel cheap in a way).

Also, the Endura's that I want (the SS version) all come with Aus-6 steel instead of VG-10. Are there any SS VG-10 Enduras?
