I am looking for a smaller fixed blade that I could edc. I have a couple of edc folders that I love but a fixed blade would be awesome. I am looking for something that is not super obvious to have on me. I am not looking for a tanto either. If you have any suggestions please let me know!

I don't presonly own one but I have heard very good things about the crkt minimalist Bowie it's about $20

Hope this helps:)

A little more info I for what I am looking for. I am an outdoorsmen. I fish and hunt quite a bit . I also live in Missouri so we have humidity that is always present in the warmer months so resistance to rust would be good

Bradford guardian 3 or 4 in m390 or 3v. 3v is not stainless but has pretty good corrosion resistance. I live in Deep South east Texas on the gulf coast. The humidity here hasn't bothered my 3v blades at all. Just my2 cents.

I'm really liking my Fiddleback Forge Hiking Buddy. I have the production version and it's an all around handy outdoors knife, but also extremely useful as an EDC. And this is coming from someone who doesn't have much use for a fixed blade with a blade under 4".

Kershaw makes a few
Spyderco makes more
Bark River makes even more
Bradford knives makes a few
Survive makes some
Emerson makes one
ESEE Makes sone
Becker makes a couple
There are a ton of choices, that is only some productions. The customs are even more expansive.

A price range would be helpful. I'll second the Bradford G3 that's already been mentioned and the smaller Bark Rivers. If you can go up to $250-$300, Bob Dozier has some very nice small FBs that carry very discreetly.

I will second this suggestion. If the hiking buddy is too big then the Runt is a great little carry fixed blade!

That sounds like a job for the Becker BK24 to me. Just over 3in of D2 steel (kind of halfway between stainless and carbon steel) with a FFG and 5/32in blade thickness. You can get zytel handle scales for it for about $12. There are also the BK14 (1095 version of the same knife), and the BK11 (same blade, but different handle shape that features a bottle opener). All of them are pretty affordable.

I typically don't care much for smaller fixed blades, as typically for blade lengths that small I'd rather have a folder, but the fixed can have advantages (mostly strength/sanitation).

Good luck finding something you like :).

Go Custom! Take a look into JK Knives, he has Plenty to offer in your size range. He normally uses O1 with a Really good HT protocol!
Look into his subforum on here!

Some vedy, vedy good knives mentioned so far...

A couple of mid-range suggestion would be.... what I consider the best all-round, knockaround, pick-it--up-put-it-on-your-jeans, go jump in the car knife, the original HEST fixed blade by Rowen. $100-ish new, much less pre-owned.

Also the Gryphon M-10 makes a discreet, comfortable carry with a more traditional blade. Also $100-ish. VG-10 steel and coated.

S.O.G. Snarl.... I believe you would like a S.O.G. Snarl it is the only production Brous Blade a nice knife with two finger holes. It has a great kydex sheaf with an amazing metal loop.

Allen Surls makes a SUPER cool little blade, I believe it's called the Revere??? She's really small, but has great style. Allen had his own hosted forum here, I'm sure there will be pics there somewhere within. Good stuff! Allen works for Andy Roy of Fiddleback Forge and shares many of Andy's qualities!

Svord_UGP_Lge2.jpg

Svord Utility General Purpose Knife - 4 3/4” Blade NZ$182
Handle Material Mahogony and Brass
Steel Specifications 15N20
Blade Thickness (mm) 2.2mm
Sheath Leather

Too big? Too tantoesque? Well , its something different.
Getting rusty? Forced vinegar patina with a beeswax coating.

Bark River mini-bushcrafter is pretty great pocket sized. Not as slicey as a full-flat, but very lovely none the less. for a really little blade the becker BK-13 is a great little blade. very plain jane, but well made, and a good starting point for deciding if you want to go for a high dollar one.
