Looking for a Spyderco for urban carry.

I'm looking for a good knife with a blade up to 4" for carrying purposes. It's not legal to carry anything larger.

I want something that's relatively easy to have in the pocket and can be equally useful in a defense situation and general cutting applications.

I'm just getting into collecting knives again. I owned a Spyderco folder back 15 years or so ago and lost it but I really liked the knife. Got it from the cutlery shop my uncle worked for. So, I'm hoping that there are some good suggestions here for my purposes.

I took a look at a Native 30SV and that looked like a decent option. Just looking for some opinions on your favorite carry knives.

I love my Paramilitary 2 and it is by far my favorite Spyderco and my most carried edc knife.

Spyderco endura 4ffg! Great knife Vg10 is good stuff. The frn handles seem cheap at first but once you use them you'll see how ergonomic and durable they really are. I carry the smaller delica more often, 3" blade seems to suit my needs pretty well.

Mcrow----what price range? lots of different options out there, but how much $ you want to spend will help narrow it down!

You may want to define your price range.

I say the Stretch is a good start, start being a key word. The Native is a bit small imo, and since you said up to 4" I assume you may be looking for a largish knife. A little pricier, look at the Chokwe, they are being discontinued and harder to find, but one of my favorites. If you want to spend a lot of money, get a Southard. The Para 2 will be a very popular choice, but hard to get right now. The Bradley folder is another popular choice, I haven't picked one of those up yet.

In general, you won't find a bad Spyderco, pick the size you want, the price range, and then go off of looks, or feel if you have a local place you can check them all out.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Well, I think the upper limit for what I want to spend is around $100 give or take some.

Size wise, I'm looking at something between 3-4" as that seems like a good all-purpose size and still legal to carry.

Manix2
Para
Native 5 (125ish)

But if on a budget, cant beat a Tenacious...

Also, where is your favorite place to buy? There are not any places near by that sell spyderco knives and maybe only 1 that's within an hour and a half. I've seen some online stores but just curious as to what your favorite places to buy are.

Just got a Southard. About twice the price of the Paramilitary 2 but it's almost twice the knife. They can be found for about $230.

Sooo, =>3", <4" and =<$100?

Para 2, Manix 2, Tenacious, Stretch, Centofante3, or Endura 4.

Thanks! Wow, love the Centofante3 and will be getting that for my EDC knife. Probably will pick up a Para 2 at some point as well .

Isn't there soon to be a sprint run of Para2s with the CTS-204P blades? I guess that might be more of a safe queen, though?

The 204P pre-order sold out about a year ago, and mine will not be a safe queen, I will be using the crap out of mine.

I've been carrying my Vallotton Sub-Hilt in my jacket pocket a lot lately.
I think it is top notch for and Urban, in the pocket knife.
Very stiletto-like, yet stronger (and heavier) than the PM's or the Military's (I own all three).
Comforting blade with teh Cool Bling.

How does spyderco keep the price that low in the Centofante3? I don't think I've ever seen a blade with VG10 for that good a price.

Crazy, the Centofante 3 is a nice knife, I have one. I consider it a light duty gent's folder. The blade is quite thin, plastic handle, lock-back. Great blade shape though.

To the OP, check out the Superleaf and grab one pronto! They're discontinued but you can still find one if you look around. Under $100 too. Nice beefy blade.

Endura
Sage 1,2
These are all great choices. My personal favorite is my southard flipper. Blade shape and steel is perfect for edc. Awesome knife
