Looking for a titanium frame lock for $200 or less.

+1 on the Sage 2. But my advice may not be too good: I strongly dislike frame locks. The Sage 2 is the only frame lock that I have kept in regular EDC use.

Kershaw guy has the Tyrade frame lock by Kershaw for $175. Great knife!
I assume too big for you if the BM 760 you mention is though.

There is nothing at all the matter with the Alias folder. Its a quality built model with great blade steel, made in the USA and the right size for you. No further need to give that one much though IMO.

Some of the Mayo Buck models may please you and someone else mentioned the JYDII frame locks available from Kershaw Guy right now although they are sold as blem models with no warranty. I bought one from him and honestly my first one that was not a flawed second has more flaws in it than this one that is marked as such. Go figure.

Buck Mayo TNT, Mayo design, Paul Bos heat treat S30V, Buck manf and forever warranty. The knife is awesome, its well made with quality components and the design is awesome. $185.00 if you look around on ebay or at home depot online.

The only cons is the high hollow grind of the blade and holes in the handle, both just my cons. The knife is solid and I've owned $400.00 and up folders, this thing holds it owns and then some.

I've owned most of the sub $200 ti framelocks mentioned in this thread & my personal favorite is the Buck Mayo TNT.

Here's mine with a small sebbie.

But I do think it in the sub $200 price range, it comes down more to personal preference. (i.e.- form factor, ergos, size, carry options, blade grind, etc...)

Except for one or of the dozen+ sub $200 ti framelocks that passed thru may hands, I wouldn't say any were significant different in terms of quality. (& no, I will no name the ones that I felt were subpar b/c it could have been a QC issue with the examples I owned ;).)

Anodized blue??? I want that TNT!?... PM me how you got that done..

I would Not Reccomend the Benchmade 760 Lum.The lock is Very inconsistant

Sometimes locks with verical play, sometimes very Tight. The edge is wider

than normal.

I have a Bradley alias 1 great knife if you can find a place to buy one.

Yeah, I'm hearing a lot of bad things about the Lum lock. Shame.

I think right now it's between the Sage and the Alias. But the Chokwe is still kind of grabbing my interest.

I'd recomend you hunt for a mini skirmish. Both the 630 and the 635 are great knives. Best thing about these 2 is the the blade to handle ratio. They have much bigger blades than other knives that are the same size closed.

Another vote for the Buck Mayo/TNT. Since I purchased one about a year ago it has replaced my small Sebenza as my favorite EDC.

I got the Sage 2. I was seriously considering the Chokwe, but I didn't really like the G10/Titanium combination. Also, I'd be a little worried about breaking the tip. The Alias wasn't in stock anywhere, and it wasn't really less than $200 either.

There is just something about The Buck Mayo that bothers me. it looks like a $10 knife for some reason. The blade and the handle look like 2 separate pieces instead of one whole knife.

My Sage will be here on Tuesday! I'm psyched!

If a blem does not bother you - you cannot beat the Kershaw JYD2 titanium SG2 "super steel" blems that the Kershawguy is selling.

This was a limited edition knife - 1000 pieces were made.

He's selling blems on the Dealer forum in the Exchange section at a very reasonable price - well below your budget.

They are sweet.

Titanium scales with the fuselage pattern, frame lock, and combo blade with an SG2 cutting edge.

It is a flipper - but not AO.

I have to agree. Really good value and a great preforming knife.

For comparison of some of the aforementioned Ti framelocks, here is my collection, L-R: Buck 172 Mayo TNT; B-M 635BK mini-Skirmish; 630 Skirmish; 760BK LTi; and Kershaw JYDII:

All were less than $200. But - all but the B-M 760 are 'out of production' now and hard to find. The JYDII recently gained a blemished sibling from Kershawguy for half what the other one cost me - and that was a cheap source then! In all seriousness, other than the 'XXXX' on the blade - and the unequal lamination lines between the sides - you'd never tell the difference. Both are tied as the 'sharpest new knives' I've bought. Of course, the 760 is no slouch, either.

Stainz

PS Not that the Buck TNT needs my defending it, but it is one finely made knife!
