Looking for another Becker

And also does the 7 still come with the other knife?

no, but it's worth having... the usa made ones are great. the pouch is still there on the original sheath too.

Okay both sanded and one buffed in the 1st 2 pictures...

Both buffed and I realized that they don't match. I'm too damned anal for this...

So what do you think? Anything else I need to do to them? I don't suppose it will be a big deal when they are on the knives but I'm the one that can tell someone touched my ink pen on my desk. Yeah, I know. I live with it though. :)

I started with 320 grit sand paper and sanded wet, down to 400 grit. Let them dry overnight and then today took green buffing compound and rubbed on then with a rag and used the dremel and a polishing wheel on them. That's really about it. I am guessing I might have sanded on one more than the other and that's why they don't match. Not really sure but I'm putting them on anyway unless anyone (who knows more) thinks I need to sand down the lighter one more.

Now which one to put them on? The 2 or the 7. I haven't figured that one out yet.

So got it finished up. Decided that it would look better on the 2. One of the holes was a bit cockeyed on the the handle and would not let the nut sit flush so I had a bit of a struggle getting the bolt to bite but finally got it on. Have heard that these tend to loosen up after a lot of impact so I cinched them down pretty tight. Actually I think one of them might be right on the edge of stripping. Is there tougher hardware available for these? Might need to pick up a set.

Anyway first mod done. Turned out okay except for the mismatch color on the scales. I can live with it.

Congrats on the new steel man, and the BK2 looks great in micarta. I actually really like the look of the black blades with micarta. I might try my hand at making it some time.

And yea, I started out thinking the BK2 would be the only knife I would need. That still might be true, but I find myself eyeing the BK9 quite a bit... and the brute... and the ... oh no, I think I'm starting down the rabbit hole :(/:).

*snap* Just realized that I can move the belt loop plate over to the other side. I'm so slow sometimes. Now I have a lefty sheath. I am just sitting here looking at it thinking there has to be a way to put something on there to hold a fire steel. So many holes and slots, so few ideas.

Not sure if you'd like something like this, but I managed to find a place for a firesteel when I was making my sheath into a drop leg sheath. Check out the photos in the link below. The only thing I've done since then is add a handle to the firesteel to make it easier to hold.

Other people will use things like ranger bands to hold them on, or still other people will use some sort of screw on loop that they bend to the right size.

Cheers!

Thanks that's a good idea! I also saw a thread that Warrior posted about one made with plastic cable ties. Both are smart ideas. Thanks
