Looking for decently-cheap 3 season hat..

I had a straw Stetson 8X for 5 years or so. It stood up to multiple dunkings in fresh and saltwater as well as all kinds of other stuff. I have now moved to a nice custom made palm leaf hat(not nearly broken in yet). The only downside to a cowboy hat is that taller packs will bump the back of them. Other then that I think they are great outdoors hats. You cant beat a ball cap either.

Different Village. I never even stayed at a YMHA. :D
And it's not "Macho Man" it's macher, man.

You know the New York version of the old saying:

"Lead, follow, ...
or get someone else to pay!"

:D

Can't get much cheaper and 3-season: wet, wetter, and not-quite-as-wet-as-the-other-two(the fourth is hockey season - you're watching the game so you don't care what it's doing outside)

misanth and torm, it's the (gusty) wind...oh, and the yuppies.

LOL, I think more the latter...they wear 'em on the prairies and it ain't less windy there!

Sometimes, out on the boat, I'd worry a little, if we were racing along...but I've never had a cowboy hat blow off!

Of course I keep my hair quite short - cut it if it gets to be more than a half inch long - so that kind of velcros the hats down.

But I can't argue that I don't fit in with the yuppies! It is kind of fun to park my beat up old 4x4 on the big tires in Yaletown though...although most fun is to do that and get out with the glammy model gf...I am sure people are wondering what the appeal is as I obviously am not wealthy! Hell my truck is probably older than half the residents of Yaletown.
