That is also how I understand they are made. Most likely the camo and patterned stuff out there are actually concealex. You may want to shoot Gravelface a PM. I know that he has made sheaths in digital camo before.

I tryed shooting Gravelface but his box seemed to be full. I hope he comes along soon:thumbup:

If you are shooting at him then will be busy ducking and running instead of responding :p

Have you tried emailing him instead via his profile?

"Back in the day" (while working for BTI) I got to talk to a rep and was told they were using an "ink saturation process" to print on the material.

I've found digicam in 1/8" (BTI uses some) but found that the price was roughly 3-4 times that of solid color. That pretty much put the kybosh on me carrying digicam material. Not to say that I'm not still looking for some in the correct thickness. A custom order is a possibility, but would cost around $7K last time I checked.

There is also a process that's been on Discovery Channel I think, that works like a decal.....can't remember the company name at present but I will likely get a sample in future. The catch there is the 2-3 weeks it'll take to get stuff there and back, plus the $ for the service and shipping.

If Gravelface has found some......and is willing to share the info.......:D

Off to the band saw for now!

OKU!!! Get back here! Where's my #%@#@*# GW??!! I'll be seeing it soon, Bro. Take 'er easy.

You mean to tell me I can just heat it up and feed it through my ink jet printer.:p Should have thought of that before... Thanks for the info all.

I remember the seeing the company oku is talking about. It's a liquid process that essentially screen prints the camo on to the material.Alot of gun manufacturers were using this process to digi cam there stocks.I would imagine it to be quite costly though.
quantity would have to be large to get any discounts I would think.
Needless to say...Theres a way to do it,But I foresee sheaths runnin in the high dollar mark if so.Good luck with the search. How about heating the kydex
up and throwin it out in the yard for some stompin...:D

Hey fellas... Funny thing that Grandsuave brought up this thread. I did a lot of net surfing just yesterday on this very subject.

I was unable to find anyone who carries Camo Kydex or Concealex.

However, it appears that a bit of Spraypaint with a stencil works just fine. The question is?????? Will it heat up with the paint, or should it be painted after moulding? I am thinking... after moulding.

I'll go buy a case of beer and some spraypaint, spend a couple hours in the garage, and let ya'll know when I get the answer this weekend. Ummmm.... in the name of Science... of course....

Iv'e been trying to get a hold of Gravelface for a couple of weeks now with no luck. Anyone heard from him lately? He hasn't posted on BF since the 9th of April, hope all is well.

American Chopper showed the process of applying the liquid decal on the bike they did for Gander Mountain. The process they showed made me think small lots wouldn't be an issue.
