Looking for info on old Buck knife from my youth

I took my logo off with regular old paint stripper from the shed. No problem and it did not affect the finish on the blade. BPS offered a 532 LE in African black wood like they make clarinets out of. It is a real dark brown. I have also seen a 532 with beech wood scales dyed black. The grain of the wood was still visible but I didn’t think the knife was that nice looking and I left it in the store.

I kinda like the logo. It makes the knife unique and identifies it as an Alaskan Guide from Cabela's.

Buckfinder

Check ebay again and look under their completed items section for: TASCO World Class Knife Model K1100. This may be the knife you once owned. It's very similar to a Buck 110. Another suggestion might be to go to TASCO's website www.tasco.com and get their toll free phone number and call their customer service department and explain your situation and see if someone there can help. I am thinking that it may have been a promotional knife made by Buck or another manufacturer for TASCO. You might even luck out and find someone who was around at the time and has one in his desk drawer that he would be willing to part with. I know things with sentimental values are hard to replace, but I thought I'd chime in with my 2 cents. Hope it helps.

That sure looks like his description...

It's item # 180070334242

I wish I'd seen it...$14.50!!!... :(

Yep, that the one I saw! I don't think it's a Buck though, but the age would be about right. You know, if my memory serves me right, I think TASCO had a new rifle scope that they were promoting and this knife was the give away if purchased. I think I saw the ad in Guns & Ammo. I'll have to check my library (next to the toilet) and see if I can find it.

I did a search and dont see a where Buck ever made that knife so I think Chuck is right, it was made by someone else. Sure is a close match though.

The more I look at the knife and the grain of the wood scales, I'm thinking it might be a Schrade LB7. I still think the best bet would be for Buckfinder to call TASCO's marketing department and ask them for some help. I took the liberty of looking up their customer service toll free number (800) 423-3537.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!

It is not an LB7. If you look at one the front bolster is the wrong shape. The LB7 has a flat bottom on the front bolster. This one is rounded more like a 110. Maybe it is like one of those Sears knives that show up on eBay.

Tom:

Not only are those quite rare, but yours is in great condition. Do you have the box, sheath, and paperwork for it? Would you mind posting more pictures of that beauty?

Go to the official picture thread for more pictures

Tom:

I just came from that thread. WOW! That baby is in outstanding condition. Trade? You gotta be looking for something.

This one is a keeper:D it's one of the gems in my collection that i don't think i could part with, i have a 112 micarta from the same era that's just as good condition or better.

I can't blame ya! The word gem is certainly fitting. I had to ask though.:D Do you have the box and all that jazz for it? If so, does the box state micarta on it?

No box or paper work , but i do have a sheath from that era, I asked Joe Houser about it and he looked at the pictures and says it was either a
proto or i was made by an employee back then, i think i still have the email
from Joe if you wanted to see what Joe said.
