Last Thursday, 12/9 Seager agreed to purchase my Rick Menefee Dogleg Jack that I have posted for sale. He indicated he would pay the next evening and I said, sure.

I have left several PMs and emails and no response. I was wondering if anyone has heard from Vern. I hope he is ok and not in a ditch somewhere.
(I'd also like to get paid or relist the knife)

Is there some protocol about waiting to re-list an item.

The moment the next evening came and went and you hadn't received payment then you met your terms of the agreement but he didn't, you therefore, in my opinion, are relieved of any agreement you had. I would have listed it for sale the following morning and sold to the first person that paid. You are certainly under no obligation of any kind to continue to hold it for him unless YOU want to.
 
you already waited about 3 days, I would say that's pretty generous. If you want to give him another chance, send a message saying that if payment not received within (12-24) hours, it will be relisted.

Or you could, in my opinion, relist the knife knowing that you've given him plenty of time to respond or pay.
 
Thanx for the info, guys. I just did not want to jump the gun. He has good feedback and has been a member here for over 10 years. I realize things happen, I would have liked a response, unless he is unable.

I think I will relist tonite. The prob. is that with this new system (which I think stinks) my orig. thread is now pretty far down the page.

Horizon Seeker, bumping doesn't work with the new system. Threads remain in chronological order of their first posts. Stiffing a seller like this really does mess up his place in line now.

It looks like Seager hasn't been online since 12/02.

Something must have happened.He is a great guy,I have had a few deals with him.
 
Thank you all for the thoughtful replies. I re-listed the knife and it was sold this morning. I hope all is well with Seager.

Hello and good news, I rec'd an email from Vern (Seager), he was taken to the hospital and had to stay a few days, he is better, Thank God. I had a feeling it was something like that.

He seems like a great guy and I am sorry the knife sold as he still wants it. Sorry man :foot:.

I did not mean to vilify him in any way by starting this thread and I would not hesitate to enter into another deal with him.

Just goes to show that life happens outside this little forum. Sometimes folks get all twisted if there is some kind of glitch, and they are way too quick to pounce.

When I 1st came here I had a medical emergency (search my user name) while in the middle of a couple of deals and I was set upon by a bunch of people that had nothing better to do than sit back and criticize.

This is a wonderful community and it is nice to have folks look out for each other. Sometimes a calming breath is worth more than a scream.
