When getting started, the red sharpie is your friend!
Im in wyoming so cant show you is person, but take a red magic marker and coat the edge, then after you take a stroke on the stone look at where the marker is worn away. The work the other side, recoating with marker as needed till you get a nice even bevel, keep at it till you get a wire egde that works over on each side, then raise angle to about twice what original was and lifhtly "shear" wire edge off.
Use a coarse stone to start so it goes faster.
