Looking for Swiss Army Knife Recommendations

Hello all. I am interested in getting a smallish multitool, and would like to get a Victorinox SAK to carry everyday. The problem is, there are so many models, and while some of them have tons of tools, they seem really large and heavy. At the other end, some of them seem super light and compact, but don't have many useful tools and the blade is usually very tiny and flimsy.

Can someone recommend a SAK with a very good balance between portability and function? I was thinking of getting the Cadet, but it is very minimal. Maybe the Executive is also an option. I don't plan on using it for hard use or survival or bushcraft or anything, but I would like some decent added functionality and tools as well as a small but capable blade. For just a blade, my Case Peanut is totally sufficient. But obviously, it doesn't have any other tools.

Thanks in advance.

Personally I love the Cadet and it is by far my most carried SAK. I do wish they made a "Cadet X" with scissors added. That would be absolute perfection for me.

I like the Pioneer but find it too big to carry loose in my pocket regularly, though I am planning on getting a Pioneer X so I have a larger SAK with really good scissors. For smaller ones I love the Classic SD and the Minichamp.

And I only do Alox. Love the Alox. :D

I have had a Small Tinker in my pocket since I got it in Nov.. This is with a doubt the most used edc I have carried in my 45plus yrs of having a knife in my pocket.. Fits all my needs and to me very friendly/useful.. JMO!!:D

And.. I am really going to enjoy hearing what others have to say about their favorites and why!!:D Might give me some ideas what to add to the SAK nest!!:p Bring it on Gents!!

Thanks, and the Squirt is a good suggestion. I was seriously thinking about getting the Squirt. In fact, I was a couple of seconds away from clicking the order button. But it is in some ways fundamentally different from a SAK, and so I didn't order it. While I love the functionality, it has a totally multitool profile, and not a pocket knife profile like the SAK. But great suggestion, and thanks.

I have at least 12-15 SAKs but the one I carry most is the compact. Every tool I need (day to day-the Huntsman for outdoors) and none which make it too large.

I'm also leaning towards the Alox scale models. Maybe it's time to start a SAK collection lol.
If you have second hand stores/flea markets, you can find great deals. Also don't discount celidor, it's some durable stuff and makes them far cheaper. Then you can always get into your own custom scales. They're not terrible difficult to make.

Compact is a great model. Or the Tinker.

If you want Alox, take a look at the Bantam. Great pocket carry for urban use. I'm a big fan of the Pruner myself.

If you're thinking of the Farmer, consider the Camper, it's more for less. Heck the Camper is possibly the best outdoors SAK on the market (I have both :D).

You might like the Rambler.

It's a bit thicker than the Classic, but it's worth it. It adds a cap lifter/Philips screwdriver/wire stripper tool that's simply genius.

The knife and scissors on the Rambler have the pivot on the opposite side of the keyring, which kind of corrects a problem I see in the Classic.

I'm going to grab a Rambler in Alox if I ever find one.

I really liked my Tinker for the time I carried it in pocket. Lately it has been kept in my laptop bag, as the Leatherman Rebar I now keep on my belt is used much more frequently, the pliers in particular.
