Looking to finally buy high end spyderco. suggestions please?

Spyderco PM2 is probably the best knife for the money of any production folder out there (in my opinion). Awesome knife.

I'm in a bit of a predicament. I would like to own a paramilitary 2 or military in the near future. But for this question, I'm looking at two folders. The Spyderco Lionspy and the Spyderco Rubicon. Which is better for edc? Or should I avoid the more expensive spydercos and settle on a nice pm2?

Wait a bit a get the new Gayle Bradley 2. It looks amazing and M4 is near perfect. I have the original which will tide you over if you must have a new spyderco now. Another high end favorite of mine while not being too expensive is the Vallotton. Fantastic beefy durable knives.

For me the fit in my big hands has always been most important. The Military locks into my hand like it was made for me. Randomly the Chinook looks totally different but locks into my hand too.

So if the Manix XL looks good to you go handle one. Might be a perfect fit.

Hello Friar. I would like to know where you got those lovely scales on the middle knife in the picture? I am considering picking up one of these and knowing that you can place a custom scale is a plus for me.

Hey brother, sorry I missed this question.

Steve Ketchen (spketch) did them. I highly recommend him for any and all scale work. Check him out here.

If its for EDC get a PM2 and then put an aftermarket custom scale on it. Do a google search so many wonderful examples out there. There are scale makers on the forum who can execute for you as well.

PS for what it's worth I think the high end thing and Spyderco is a trap by the way. I hope you don't fall into it. Even the cheap Spyderco's are FANTASTIC. You'll end up with a whole mess of them. The real rub is finding out what you do with your knife and how you carry it for EDC. Can you or do you really want to EDC a giant knife for example? Also high end doesn't mean better. The grinds and blade profiles on nearly every Spyderco I've ever owned turn them into light sabers.

For instance I love CRK, but to be honest I think Spyderco's cut better. Does it mean I'm going to only buy Spyderco? Heck no, but Spyderco's platforms just have a lot of thought put into them and like CRK, you have to handle a whole bunch as there is going to be several or one Spyderco that once it gets into your hand and into your EDC rotation you're going to say that it's perfect and the best knife on earth for your own purposes if that exists?

It's happened so many times with me and this brand, they really are ridiculous like that, worth every penny. But it's also a frugal knife. You don't have to spend and spend to get something awesome. You can mod them though and get after market scales to bling them out! The brand is weird as hell. Everyone who handles them say the same thing. This is one busted a&& ugly knife. Then you hold one in hand, and it changes everything you ever feel about that particular knife and what a knife should be.

The Delica's ergos and size, how much blade it squeezes into a handle forced me to go out and buy a Sebenza. I was literally compelled to do it because of the Delica. (D4 is a perfect knife btw).

S30V should be experienced by everyone! It is literally a super steel for a reason. The SPECS should prepare everyone for performance and stamina. It's like a waterbed, everyone gets a different experience.
