See a few of the dealers selling them for quite a bit less than normal. Not quite half price but close enough. Wonder if its being discontinued due to low sales, or if a new version is coming out and their making room for it? Who knows the deal? Thanks.

From Kinfeworks:
These will be shipping Tuesday 08/16/2016<p>On sale while supplies last

Tells me they are getting a shipment to liquidate. I think most successful knives get their run at selling full price. Kinfeworks is buying these at discount to sell at discount. Knifecenter is too. Others like BladeHQ and National are trying to sell these full price before the "sale" officially starts on Tuesday.

Damnit..I just ordered one of these from Knifecenter for $150. I would've ordered from KW and saved 6 bucks if I saw that.

I'm picking one of these up just to have a 10V knife in my collection, if I'm not mistaken, this is one of very few production folders to be offered in this steel (hell, it might be the only one).

This knife wasn't even on my radar at all, but for $150? Why not?

Not surprising...I handled one at a store recently and nothing about it made me want to buy it. It is excessively large and heavy, clunky action to work and is tip down only (worst of all). I really don't get why any manufacturers make tip down only knives, I think I can speak for many others on here in saying my one hard and fast "will not buy" criteria is tip down only carry.

I bet the Tatanka will soon go the way of the K2, there is nothing about that thing that is in any way practical. I can see the size appealing to the tacticool Cold Steel fan crowd who like 5.5" folders (and bigger) but the price stands in the way of most of them. Spyderco makes lots of great designs that have a wide appeal, but some of their models they bring to market (those two, the Draper, the Introvert, Orobouros etc) just make you shake your head.

That is quite a discount for the K2! It made me do a double-take when I saw that price for the first time.

Unfortunately I'm with John_0917 on this model... I can list at least 8 things I do not like, so I'll be skipping this one too.

The K2 has a 4.5" blade... Not 5.5"..... ;)

I like mine.

I plan to use it as a fixed nlade and strictly in my garage for breaking down cardboard boxes. Does it make me a tacticool cold steel fan?

Same here. I will wait until Tuesday, when if it is still not shipped by kc (would have been eight days), I will cancel my order and get it from kw (have hade great experience with kw for multiple purchases).

Think they make the larger bladed folders tip down for safety reasons, so the detent isn't getting a constant workout.

There are some things I dont like about it, but many i do.

Things i dont..

-how thin it is
-framelock
-no texture for grip slip

Things i like.....

-steel
-full flat grind
- blade persian sort of shape
-size, but would prefer not as wide

I grabbed another one. For this price point its worth one.

No, but I would just get a fixed blade. Save some money and will be more reliable.

I've heard of problems with the lock up. If I get liquored up enough...
And it's great to see those larger offerings. Man bugs and teeny para stuff don't appeal to everyone either.

I jumped all over this. I prefer tip down, don't mind large knives and can't wait to try some 10V. Woot woot!

Your in for a real treat..

:thumbup::thumbup: The lock is going to take some time to break in. Great Knife!!

Edit: Going forth and back about getting another 1. I know I'll never wear out the 1 I have now tho....decisions, decisions.

What problems with the lock up? Sticky lock or something else? Thanks.
