Lord, forgive me, but I hate Sheeple!

i used to carry a neck knife all the time(murray carter ms to be exact).....i have had people start almost screaming when i would pull it out.....i have since switched to a kershaw folder and an ed caffrey ebk on my belt.....it doesn't help the kershaw has assisted opening.....i think that scares people more......i just like having fun though......people always say.....why are you carrying a concealed weapon????.......ryan

I have a solution... carry that large Sebenza as well as a really small folder. When she asks you for the knife hand her the small one, hehe...

I like to EDC large folders but I recently started carrying a second, smaller folder for sheeple prone situations. Keeps them happy and I get to carry two knives :)

modern liberal.

That may be the problem right there. Or maybe the problem is my skewed perception of what liberalism actually is, or just a poor choice in terminology.

The very root of my liberal beliefs is an open mindedness to all the problems of society, and it's interesting to note that I agree with you 100% on what you say about modern "liberals." To me these people aren't very liberal at all. They preach something that sounds good, but put that down-trodden helpless person they preach to save next to them, and they'll probably run away. Those that actually do what they preach have my deepest respect, but there aren't a whole hell of a lot of them.

What I see going on in this country, and both sides are doing a bang up job of it, is an erosion of our civil liberties because of fear. A gun is scary, so let's ban it. A knife is sharp, so no one should have those either.

We have to stand up for our rights, and that very idea is the basis of liberalism to me. In my mind a truly conservative society bans what is scary and moves itself closer and closer to absolute tyranny at every moment.

So am I liberal? Yes. But the modern liberal idea sickens me. The idea of fear without justification sickens me. I'm scared for this country and I don't think any ammount of liberalism or conservativism is going to help. We need to get away from fear-mongering and find real leadership.

But I digress.

I use my knife at work for whatever odd jobs need doing. My stock answer to "my, that's a big knife," or "oooh that looks sharp," is "yes, it is." I don't let the sheep bother me.

I'm with you on that! The last time I went to Disney I was stopped by security upon entering the ticket area and was asked to show them "that blade" that was clipped to my pocket. I was carrying a Kershaw Scallion AND a Chive. Neither of which are very large. Anyway, I stepped aside and pulled out the Chive and opened it with 2 hands so as to not scare them with the speedsafe mechanism. I told them it was very small and would only be used for opening stuff we bought in the park (removing tags, battery packages, etc.). They didn't think it was too dangerous but asked me to please secure it all the way down into my pocket. I told them I would and off we went.

They never noticed the fact that the larger knife they originally saw was still clipped to my pocket.

Never had a problem after that!

I definitely agree with you. Modern liberalism has abandoned everything it once stood for. It grew out of a genuine attempt to improve things for working class Americans, and has evolved into an elitist and overbearing world view. Not just both parties, but both ideologies are based on fear mongering and scare tactics to gain power.

"is a bastion of the PC". I think I figured out what Sheeple are but could someone define P.C.?

Up here in Canada there seems to be a split along the lines of rural/urban population. I work in a government office in a rural area of the country where most folks carry a pocket knife of some kind (mult-tools, SAK's, small folders are the norm). I don't imagine this would get the same kind of acceptance in Vancouver or Victoria. In fact the only critical comment I received on a knife (Buck Strider was EDC that day) came from a co-worker visiting from Victoria.

I have noticed however, that even in smaller towns, the hospitals and and schools are bastions of humanist/secular/ liberal types (sheeple?) and I usually leave my knife in the vehicle when visiting one of these spots.

My job takes me into peoples homes every day, and I have occasion to use a knife all the time also. I usually carry a Kershaw Chive and really enjoy the assisted opening feature, but as of yet I have never had a single comment on it. The area I'm in does not like firearms and the like so I was actually very surprised that no one has said anything. Now I'm looking for a bigger, still assisted opening, knife.

Many of my coworkers carry knives, and I was pleasantly surprised to find mostly good brands too. The new guy saw my Chive the other day and said "hey, that's what I carry I think" and sure enough it was. Cool. Now I have to get more nice folders to outdo all the others. :D Hence my new presence around here.

Yes, you have Sheeple about right. They act as much like sheep as people. They are helpless. They "Bleet" and complain, but rely on someone else to act on their behalf. :barf:

P.C. refers to Political Correctness. This is humanist/secular/liberal ideology that has become official policy.

For example:A police officer is prhibited by department policy from even asking someone about their immigration status, because the department might be accused of racial profiling.

Or the dress code at a major university, wich allows someone to wear a T-sirt with profanity or pornographic images, but prohibits anyone from wearing a T-shirt with a religious message or icon.
