Lord Vader, your bowie is ready...

Thanks for the info Les. Maybe the 2 pieces were bought by a single customer, now trying to turn over part of their collection.

I agree with you (and did so all the way back in 04):

Of course. My experience is that Nordic is generally pretty conservative, but you are right.

Yup, something less than mint, but when it's on a blade with color, it takes it down another notch from "near mint" for me, because 1) the scratch becomes much more obvious, and 2) the population of potential buyers, later on, is diminished for the same reason.

That's why, at least for me, it's more a "damaged goods" condition than near mint, but we are pretty much saying the same thing. I agree that Dave Harvey is very conservative in his condition descriptions, usually, and that one would need to see the scratch. But the mention of it, on a blackened background, is probably enough for me not to ask for an image of the scratch.

Here's the scratch - its below the star.
Dave is very conservative.

I must admit, having seen the image, that the knife is not damaged goods. A "near mint" might even be conservative. One beautiful knife all the way around, since I happen to like that guard, too.

At first I couldn't make out the scratch even knowing where it was, but I eventually spotted it.

This is a fantastic knife that does not appeal to me at all. It is just too embellished for my taste.

Better make the move then, before it's gone. ;) :)

At this point in time, I look for a better combination of beauty and value. In today's secondary market, there are plenty of other knives of equal beauty but at a price that'll engender better investment value going forward.
