You bring joy, enthusisam and positive vibes to this forum! If people can't stand that for some reason, it is their problem not yours!
It has been said before by others, if you can't stand seeing it, choose to look away! Instead of bringing negative vibes to everyone else! Simple really!
Lorien, your average posts tip the "scale" way over on the positive side, others don't!

I also see STevens post as some kind of very "straind" appology so that is good I guess. If only he could "man up" and go all the way with it... :rolleyes: ;)

It would be so nice if we all could bring this forum along in a positive direction, together. I asume this is what most of us would want...?

I agree with Phil Dwyer. I might want to point out though that this whole thing started out with Lorien simply showing off one of his knives. From what I understand - that is what we normally do on the forums. I particularly liked the knife and enjoyed the pictures and I personally have never seen it before. I don't know any of you personally who have commented on this thread including Lorien, but I find it ironic that the one who is calling the other an "attention whore" has 3000 more posts than the one he is calling the "attention whore". Thanks goodness that I only have 4 posts since 2006 so that accusation can't be made against me.

Lorien, keep up the good work. The only reason I am commenting on this is because I enjoyed your recent thread on the knife that Nick Wheeler is making. I thought that was the best thread that I have ever seen on this forum and I took the time to call Nick and let him know that. It would have been a shame if it had never been posted. Just cool down a bit and keep up the good work. Maybe you should start a thread and call it "Survivor". You can ask the question - "if Bladeforums were an island, who would you vote off?" I imagine that STeven Garsson might get a few votes.

My only advice to you is: Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Why oh Why did you waste your 4th post just to stir the pot some more? If you don't see fit to participate more than four times in 4 or 5 years, then I would suggest you not add to a problem when you do post.

The object of this thread was/is to cool things off and get back to normal. Continued jabs at STevie et al do little to accomplish this. If you want to do that then take it direct to STeven or whomever via PM (Oh, I forgot you don't have PM privileges at your membership level) or Email.

I would vote to keep STeven on the Island.
You obviously missed the episode where the head hunters kidnapped Ginger while Gilligan was sleeping... He may be an ABN "asshole by nature" but he is a badd ass and I would sleep well knowing he was patrolling the island at night..
In other words the head hunters would be screwed when they hit his beach....
 
I haven't followed threads that preceeded all this (and don't really want to), but Lorien, you've got 2 full pages of people wanting you to stick around here. As they say, "that ain't bad"! Steven sort of apologized! As Joe indicated, that's pretty big. Gotta admit, for a forum, we're a pretty tight group overall. Still, we're gonna throw a jab at each other once in a while. It's what guys do. Maybe even a "left hook". Whatever it was, let it slide, my brother. It's no big deal....

OK at this point Lorien you have got to be feeling the Love. it is clear that many folks here on BF feel the same way about you as I do. your contagious enthusiasm has brought joy to many a day for me. it is events like this that help us keep the balance her on BF you can not have this much fun w/o a little downside now and then. so please reconsider and join us cuz if you don't i will kick your butt:) talk to you soon

Of course I am with the group that wants Lorien to stick around. His egregious mistake of 'overposting' was WELL overbalanced with STeven's dismissive to him. He's impulsive, too, and human enough to have honest feelings. In community when you are sharing excitement, it is NOT appropriate to belittle. This isn't Kumbaya, it's what strong men can see clearly.

That STeven has contributed to this forum, this community, and my own life is beyond dispute. :thumbup: Thank you.

But if Teddy Roosevelt spits on the sidewalk, no matter what he's done before that, it's still wrong. :barf: Just sayin.

Less chest thumping and an honest "Sorry, I acted on impulse. I do that. My bad." would go a lot farther than substantiations, 'get over it' and a thousand vocal supporters.

We are only as good as the last post we make. So make it worthy.

I hope this turns out OK.

You know that your friendship means a lot to me.

We are looking at this(obviously) from two sides of the same coin.

Did I mean to hurt Lorien's feelings? No, I didn't....and specifically stated that the point of my post was NOT to run him off, but to suggest that a shrine to this knife might be in order, with a hyperlink in his sig line....and meant it. If he likes the knife that much, it is a warranted action. I could have done it with more tact and courtesy. That is not my forte'....direct words, tone and manner are. If I could "do it over", it would have been "softer".

Then I apologized and encouraged him to return from his self imposed exile...and meant it. The apology was in my style, man-to-man. Can we please remember that Lorien is 38 years old, and does things to his body on a bicycle that most cannot even comprehend? The man has grit.

ANY Forumite in good standing no longer actively particpating is missed;Anthony Lombardo, John Frankl, Keith Montgomery, Stephen Foster, Mike Starr, Randy Morgan, even Severed Thumbs....these are irreplaceable and valuable personalities.

Lorien has to decide for himself....gave it my shot....hopefully this was a worthy post.
