I was a little shocked and quite disappointed to open one of my letters from A.G. Russell this morning to find a carefully worded letter but a notice none the less that effective 1 July the discount will no longer be available to anyone other than Active Duty personnel.
I have Greatly appreciated the years of support and will forever be appreciative.
I just never felt as a disabled Vet that my contribution had an expiration date.
I know that times are tough, they are tough for everyone possibly especially Vets.
I just do not reverse course once I have made a commitment no matter how difficult it becomes.
I ascribed to that philosophy many years ago and whether commanding a company, parenting a teenager or keeping my employees - when times got tough, I ate it.
Why? Because it was my commitment to make and I never said "Only" if it stays easy.
When business faltered, I cut my pay. Not my employees.
Every Man has to make what decision he has to or what decisions he can live with. Nobody can do it for him. As for mine, I obviously agree with how I have handled tough times partly because I will always believe times change. Weathering the storm is just what you do.
So, thank you for the support of our Troops. I consider myself one who sacrificed while serving even if a discount no longer reflects that fact.
God Bless ALL our troops!
