Lost a great Spyderco this weekend

I feel for you, my first pre-ordered Para 2 S90V got stolen out of my mail box, so I never got to see it, then I had to scramble around looking for one once they were already out, though I got very lucky and found one, though I had to pay for it twice basically. One thing I do when on the river or ocean is put a lanyard with one of those bright yellow foam key chain floaties on whatever knife I have on me (usually a Salt 1) that way if I do lose it out of my pocket it won't sink to the bottom and the bright yellow is easy to see, just make sure you test its floating ability first with the knife, the first float I bought wouldn't hold up the weight, the second (which was also rubber coated) did hold it up just fine.

I am sorry that you lost such a nice knife:eek::eek:. Keep your eyes open here on the forums. Someone just might have one they dont need!! Good Luck! Kevin :D:thumbup:

i am sorry for your loss. but i find that after a string of bad things happen an even longer string of good things come around.

also i highly recommend one of those floating boat keychains. they cost like a dollar or 2 and these even glow in the dark. ive got one of the foam ones on the end of my salt1.

o man thats a bummer. well you know what they say, "when a door closes a window opens" its to bad you lost the knife, but now you can shop around, see if theres a cheaper one that suits you. if not, save your money and eventually you can get a new one just like it. waiting, saving, the whole anticipation of getting a new knife can be exciting. sometimes the journey is even better than the destination.

FltMtnBkr, sorry to hear about your loss and other issues. As far as a replacement I agree that the 20CP para should be a worthy replacement performance wise. The steels are virtually indistinguishable when you begin to really use them in the manner that the high vanadium carbide steels like. You don't get the super high sharpness edge stability of the 52100, super blue, Even ZDP. It will keep on cutting long after any of those steels have parked it on the coffee table waiting sharpening.

For half the cost of the S90V, or less possibly the same performance. I've read about QC complaints with this sprint but I haven't seen any personally so you might want to ask the right questions if you do get one.

Joe
