Lost Mountain Iron Works big knife sheath

This response has been more than we could of hoped. It is really cool to see people appreciating a new product. We are trying to finalize how to organize something on this scale. Please keep in mind we are a very small company. And while I would love to snap my fingers and have a couple hundred of these sheaths pop out - that just isn't reality. On the other hand we are super critical about our quality and refuse to send them out of the country just to increase the speed and pay a non-American for their efforts. From someone that lost their job last year and had a chance to reinvent what they do I am committed to seeing this through. It will take some time. Bare with us just a little while and we'll come up with a plan. Thanks so much for your interest. We look forward to talking to each and everyone of you. And when I say we I mean all two of us - my wife and I. Thanks again for all the support.

You are the man Charlie! Count on me to buy a sheath or two!

"Two weeks" is well worth the wait for the quality promised. Just keep us posted! ;)

ETA: Charlie, since you've posted here personally I'm posting this publicly as I don't know how often you might check PM's. I just re-read the thread and noticed for all the interest, there is no mention of making sure one gets to you in person other than similar bar stock. In fact, count me in for one for the Basic 11 & the Bushwacker CG and I'll send one of each out to you after you contact me via PM/email (click on my user name for drop down options) since they are the models I actually have more than one of and can spare for however long you need. Let me know. Thanks, Tim

Slick! The Busse Crew is the BEST!

Slick! The Busse Crew is the BEST!

Just to clarify, the Busse Crew, ie the Busse Combat Knife Company, has nothing to do with this sheath offering. It is from an independent company, Lost Mountain Iron Works.

If, however, by Busse crew you mean the broader Busse fan community, then we can all agree with that!

I have a small update.
I ordered one of the Foot Longs a day or two before this thread started. I received some minor bad news from Charlie.
I wasn't sure if I should post it here but I think that it is fine.
Here is the email copied and pasted,

HI, we hope you had a great Fourth. We have been having machine troubles and are delayed in production. Because of the holiday we are looking at a couple of weeks for parts. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. I know you are excited to receive the Foot Long. I will let you know when we get back on track.

Thank you again for the business, we do really appreciate it. Please feel free to contact us with any questions

I let him know that I would wait as long as I needed to and that I wouldn't even CONSIDER taking my business else where.
I also let him know that I am interested in The Works pack kit.
The Works pack kit
Just wanted to keep everyone up to date as I'm sure he is pretty busy.

I might be interested in one, not sure if this thing is still going on.

I have every reason to believe that it is still going on, but as you have just read, they are having some machine problems. The entire company consists of Charlie and his wife Beth. I would imagine that our other sheathmakers, small shops all, can attest to the trials and tribulations of the small independent family business. Charlie has expressed his great appreciation for the scale of the response from the Hogs, and only asks our patience as they gear up for this offering.

Great things come to those who wait........and the Foot Long is a GREAT thing!!!

Patience is a virtue.....as is a Foot Long sheath for my DF to rest at my side!!

Yes, I mean the people who buy Busse knives AND post here, the community if you will. I know the employees are commonly referred to as the "Busse Crew" but I think of the folks here not just as "HOGS" but also a crew, just on the other side of the register. You're one silly rabbit.

Well I don't mind waiting, my B11 is still not here, and wouldn't be for a while.

Resinguy you got mail.
