Lost my Griptilian......

Does anyone have the M390 Ritter grip? What are peoples' thoughts on that. Looking at that one too. Im wondering what people think .

Just bought a BM Mini RSK MK1 in M390 as a gift. Been fondling it for a few weeks now. VERY NICE.

As I understand it, BM will be switching to more M390.

BTW, welcome to the world of 'steel snobbery'. Wasn't too long ago that some of today's 'crappy' steels were considered 'high end'.

Love mine. Been using it as my primary knife at work for a little over a month now. Held up like a champ. I've had maybe 5 grips but this is my first Ritter and now I understand the fascination.

I have managed to strip two of the screws because I can't seem to stop trying to take my knives apart. :D I'll have to get a few screws from BM once I find a way to get these two loose. Then maybe get some custom scales from one of the fine members here.

I just had my 551 get pulled off my jeans as I was getting out of a chair. I've never had a knife come off before. Upon further inspection, the contact area between the handle and clip is VERY small on the grips. Its the same on my 550HG.

Sorry to hear about your loss. But now you have a good excuse to buy a new knife. I usually don't trust clips to much, unless it's for standard EDC.

Lost my first ever mini grip after about a week of carrying it. It was my first Benchmade and I fell in love. Was a great excuse to go buy another one :D

I used the custom feature to upgrade the steel select the scale coloring and added my name. That way if I ever lost it, if someone that knows me could get it back to me. I am more than happy with how it came out. It might not be the best for resale but i never plan to.

I have played around with the BM custom builder to see what different blades and colors look like. I think the steel choice is the best feature.

Thanks smooth operator, I love it. I have since sharpened to the "17°" slot on the lansky system and mirror polished the edge with their guided strops and diamond paste. Turned out great and ridiculously sharp but the bevel is higher than I would like.
