Lost my knife after 25 years. Replacement options?

I believe that's the name it's fabric dye. People have been dying the frn scales.

Sorry to bump this back up. I got my three (3) Salts, Salt-I, all three serrated, one yellow, one black, one black on black. Honestly I'm torn. I thought I would hate the yellow handle as well as the black handle + blade but all three are nice in their own ways. I can't decide and I'm not going to keep all three. (I bought way too many other knives so can't keep all three.) Any particular reason why I should go with one over the others?

My gut says yellow because it'll be harder to lose/easier to find --but then not exactly the best EDC wearing a suit/professional dress. Really like the black but I can tell with how I'd use it the black would be gone quickly... which brings me to the traditional (now discontinued) black handle with silver blade. I'm worried about buying a discontinued knife unless I keep it as a wall hanger/collector.

If you had to return one, which two would you keep and which would you return? Thanks.

I was a bit reckless after having an adult beverage (or three) mourning my Delica. In addition to the 3 Salt-I's above, I bought the navy G10 Native. Considered the lightweight, we'll see how the Salt-I works out, may buy the LTW for EDC if Salt-I doesn't work out. I think the blue native will be my first Spyderco straight blade... --nope, have a couple Fred Perrin Bowies. Well pretty sure it'll be the first folding plain edge Spyderco I've ever owned. We bought two or are buying two. I bought the blue G10 and she now wants a pink Native so we'll be eBaying one shortly. (don't go raising your prices!) (Also happy she wants a Spyderco!)

Also bought a serrated yellow Dragonfly2, Orange Rock Salt, a black Atlantic Salt, two ARK's (both will be holiday gifts and sadly for exactly what they were designed for), a black on black Delica combo and a couple stones. Will also 100% be looking for the right gen1 Delica on fleabay --but chances are, now that I just spent a stupid amount of money on knives, my old Delica will show up.

Whoa, so many things here:
a. Congrats on the three Salts, one can't have enough Salt folders IMO. I tell you that blade coating will hold up, one of my Pacific Salts is coated as is my Aqua Salt, it's no bklack paint for sure, it'll hold up well.
About the Salt I, black FRN and normal blade is my favorite, don't worry on making it a user they're built for that!

b. Dragonfly is awesome, nothing compares and hard to beat for a small pocket chainsaw, cuts way above its size

c. I hope it never gets used for its intended purpose, but the ARK is a fine little blade that I can tell you cuts very nice and deep, I have no doubt it'd perform flawlessly if it ever gets to that

you've made very nice decisions, Rock Salt included (do you camp/hike? :D) now you only gotta try a Hawkbill style blade!

and the Aqua Salt for smaller stuff and everything else.

It's a matter of time...

Why the zip ties on the holes? And yeah... I don't know what to say. When she sees the cc bill this month it'll be a fun conversation. She has this mentality I call 'equal shopping revenge'. They are completely different knives (my gen1 Delica & the Salt-I) but the Salt-I is an awesome knife and I won't be returning any of them :D so I'll yield a bag or some shoes to her and make everyone happy.

With the Rock Salt I was actually after something slightly different. I've been looking for a really good (authentic, quality, etc.) Khukuri knife and was hoping the Rock Salt would be a little more similar to that. I'm on here (bladeforums) because of my other bad addiction --vintage axes & striking tools. I've always wanted to try to thin an axe haft like this. The Rock Salt isn't going to do it because of how hard/dense the hickory handles are but I'll keep it around just in case.

Re: Hawkbill, I've been thinking... I might actually pick up a straight blade Dragonfly and carry a Tasman hawkbill as a secondary knife. Possibly a plain edge snap-it. Pardon my french but I carry the serrated blades for those 'oh-sh*t' moments... A hawkbill would probably be a very positive tool to have during one of those moments.

Hard to beat a Hawkbill for big, ugly cutting chores

or as you say it, the "oh-sh*t" cuts you need sometimes in your life. Then they'll be up to the task, remember: just grab and pull!

Caly 3.5 for a classy option. I sanded/rounded the edges on the handle and wow. Or for something still nice and compact but perhaps up for a bit more punishment,(as long as you don't mind having to clean it up after) the Mantra.

LOL OP, I did the same thing.. My knife collection/addiction started when I lost my beloved knife that I carried for years. The knife spree started with no end in sight. I had to have few back ups as the lost knife would haunt me.
This was about a year ago, I have probably went through 40-50 knives and now have around 15 or so. Funny part is I found in one of my cars, LOL. It was there for almost a year, 8crmov13 was all rusted up but still serviceable. The irony on how much I dislike the knife today, but still love it for the sedimentary value. Good luck.
