Lost my knife.... time to get a new one

Leek but yea I did like the sharpness and it keep a pretty decent edge.

Sorry, yeah the Leek, not the Link. Either way, you liked the steel and you liked the assisted open. The Blur has the same 14C28N steel, and assisted open.

What's wrong with another Griptilian? It's a proven design. Maybe try a grown-up one this time.

I thought I wanted a mini but bought full size because I got a great price on a used 551. Never looked back at the mini except once and decided that it really does not fit my hand.

I have a native 5 lightweight spyderco it's a great little knife. The manix 2 lightweight is one I'm looking to get myself. The native 5 is around 95 bucks on blade hq and the manix 2 is about 91 . Both have frn handles and are very lightweight.

Spyderco Chaparral FRN. You like sharpness, there’s no beating the Chap in slicing ability.

Well, I'll give my personal answer to most such questions (ie. my needs, not yours) which is the Zancudo in D2 steel (though the AUS8 isn't bad). It's not a million miles from your requirements, it isn't especially expensive, and I've had far better use of it than some of my rather more expensive folders. On the other hand, my Griptillian (mine's full size) really doesn't suit my needs and your mini-Grip seemed to suit yours, so my recommendation might be way off.

Still, I've found that the more expensive, bigger-brand, more whizz-bang, folders I've bought (mostly to find out what they're like or to explore the steel their blades are made from) are just fine for what they are. But when I want to cut things I mostly reach for the Zancudo, which is always clipped to my pocket around the house. I don't carry it while out mostly because I'd prefer to avoid legal trouble (while my guess is that the Zancudo is probably legal where I am, I'm far from sure our various enforcers will know that and they have too much discretion). I do carry it outside the city, where I've found country enforcement types both more sensible and more helpful (for my purposes: most seem to know which fish are biting where in their local area).

Second the Kershaw Blur in S30V (though the 14c28n is just fine for most EDC users). Quick opening, grippy scales, thin in the pocket. At $60-70 that leaves you plenty to get a nice deep pocket clip ($20-25) which makes a good knife even better for office carry as it disappears in your pocket.

Kenny C. -

There are tons of good knives in your price range.

Since you seem prone to losing knives I might suggest a yellow handle Spyderco Pacific Salt, a BIG 3.6" blade yet weighs only 3 oz.

Here is some info. Doesn't take much maintenance, occasional sharpening is all. I like the larger spear point on the well shaped blade more than some of the small tips on other knives (Leek, etc.) which are very easy to break off if you drop them, which you seem sorta likely to do. Anyhow, have fun with your search! I'm curious to know what you decide on.

So many good knives in that price range. Someone mentioned the kershaw blur which I think would fit what your looking for nicely. I think its ugly so never picked one up but lots of people like them. I was also going to suggest the knockout because you said you liked the assisted feature on your other knife. My number one pick that fits size and price would be the delica though. If you do decide to go just slightly above your budget though like many recommend for the bugout I'd look at the pm2. Carrie's well, grip for days, easy one hand open and close once you get used to the compression lock (which doesnt take much to get used to it). Little bigger than the mini grip though but I prefer it over mine. My mini is my least used knife.

hey dude,

I am a newbie here. I would like to buy a new knife for myself. I don't have better idea which one would be better for me. Though I fixed a price for this one near $100.

Can you suggest me something good. Thanks!

Every knife mentioned here is great. I have a native 5, delica, grip, mini grip, knockout, blur (gave it away), buck vantage(x2), kershaw cqc5 and 7k, leek, manix 2 (standard and lw), esse zancudo, sage 5 and the bugout. Plus a slew of others. So needless to say I have experience with these ones. I just pulled them all out and given you’re criteria the bugout, delica, and native 5 seem to fit the bill. Native 5 is a sturdy knife with a back lock (no real fidget factor) but fits medium to small hands well either with the standard grip or using the finger choil. If you have large size hands it can only be gripped by the choil for best comfort. S30v(newest change) or s35vn depending on what you find can easily get through a day or more of cutting. Delica is a backlock as well and you lose the fidget there too but it fits most size hands and is capable. However in my experience for extensive cutting vg10 in the Spyderco variety doesn’t hold an edge that well and may or may not last depending on the task of the day. Lastly is the bugout though $15 over on the high end of your list it offers both a decent steel and great lock. The drawback though is that the standard scales to some don’t feel study enough. They are similar to the mini grip ones but thinner. In my personal case I carried the delica for a long time it was bumped by the bugout then the native 5 came and it comes down to what task is at hand as to which I carry. The others well they get time here and there but those are my main two the past few months. Although in all honesty I’ve been eyeing up the maverick that was mentioned for a few weeks now. Micarta is amazing in the hand 20cv is extremely capable and I love the feel of the vantage minus the slippery standard handles. Hope this helps any questions just ask. I have a bunch of knives and maybe be able to help if needed.
*EDIT*After I typed all this I thought about it again and also would like to add a steel will cutjack(or mini) to the list or modus. Both of these have d2 steel(maybe sketchy around water dry it well and you should be fine) that holds an edge great ergonomics as well as wont break the bank.
