Does any body know any thing about LOTAR knives or own one , Ots from a from a maker out Israel , can’t find much about them ?

I own the AKRAV Gen 3 and I truly feel the fit and finish is very close to most custom knives on the market. Its hard to say whether it is a custom or mid-tech but I would say it lands more along the custom line. The reason for that is the quality of craftmanship is second to none on the mid-tech side and it competes with most customs. The only difference between my Grimsmo Norseman and my AKRAV Gen 3 is the blade material and shape. Ive owned both and love each of them but when it comes to functionality the winner at the end of the day is the AKRAV. Many will probably question this mainly since the price difference is so vast but the Lotar Combat knives will become more popular with time and that will drive demand ;which inevitably will push to higher price increases. N300 has a customer service that will put 99% of companies to shame. I would say its equal or better than Benchmade. I had to send my AKRAV back to N300 to have some minor coating issue fixed and no questioned asked it was done and quick ;plus he sharpened my knife and covered shipping.

Do you EDC the Akrav? I found Lotar by searching 'Israel folding knives' on google. Nir told me the design and production all happens in Israel, which is pretty cool. They definitely scream hard use folders

I do EDC mine and have used it to skin deer but also as a primary defense blade. I also use it for food prep which a lot of people would think that design doesn't offer much in that dept. but it truly performs. I dropped mine a couple weeks ago and sent it back to N300 for some love and he replaced the scale as well as some internal work. The damage was all my fault but he was there to make it right and for free. He also touched up the edge while he had it. Great company that is going places and will soon be up there with the great Mid techs/Customs. I feel like there will be more choices soon regarding materials and designs and once that happens its going to be hard to find them at the same price point they are now. If N300 keeps the prices where they are but adds additional designs, steel options, blade sizes and shapes you will see these at double price on the secondary. Keep your eye on this company its gonna grow and fast. Especially the type of customer service they provide.

Had to look them up since I was intrigued.

E Ernest Curry d2eux d2eux Do y'all know if they are shipping from the US? Do they have a distributor here or do the knives ship from Israel? I noticed it's a US phone number. And what's the grind on the tip/recurve sections?

I think they ship from Israel, but shipping is free if you live in Israel or the US. Grinds offered are flat or hollow grind.

To the best of my knowledge they ship from California. Each batch or series is made in Israel and after quality and control inspections they are brought to the us. The knives are tested by Israel’s elite Soldiers that come from n300s past unit. These are great knives and dependending on availability you can find them in a flat or hollow grind

Opinions are just that, these are defensive knives and not for everyone. Some who have fought in combat or carry for defense as law enforcement may appreciate the design but I can assure you I am an owner of 2 of these knives and they quality is there. Not everyone is a troll robot secretly trying to get attention to their product

Why are we shilling for these ugly Israeli mall ninja knives that are probably made in China anyway? Two accounts with five posts between them are suddenly chatting about this? Seems a bit fishy . . .
I was curious, since I have another knife from an Israeli maker and it is excellent.

While I don't care for the jolly roger on the blade, I kind of like the knife for what it is and the price. It's kind of like a Carrillo, without having to pay money to a 1000lb pile of poop. Well, and never get the knife. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to beat the snot out of this knife.

And so far I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary - no rules violations, no links, and certainly not the first time we have seen a small brand discussed that many of us have never heard of. Heaven forbid this takes up front page space over yet another "What knife should I get?" or "Bugout vs. Mini Grip" thread...

So really, who cares. If you don't like it, move along.

I've been following them on instagram for a while, and I actually like the recurve tanto design on their folder, but for a while they've only been offering D2 on a $300+ folder. That plus the dubious origins of their materials and manufacturing, combined with the heavy-handed "super secret squirrel Israeli spec-ops operator tested and approved" marketing strategy has kept me from seriously considering purchasing one of their knives.

I mean, buying a probably-Chinese overpriced knife makes way more sense now that I know the elite tactical operator "300" is associated with it.

But, if 300 isn't even an honorary seal like Ernie is, I think I'll stick to throwing my mall ninja dollars at Emerson for now. I mean, honorary seal trumps Israeli ninja commando, no?

How’s the heat treat on the D2?

I’m super suspicious about Chinese heat treat and quality of D2. I’ve had some chinese knives with excellent D2 but have had so many with terrible chippy D2.

Of all the Israelis I've known and met, including the time I spent in Israel, I never met a man who said he had served in the motor pool, engineers, medical corps, or communications. So I guess they're ALL "operators".

The bit you quoted should be attributed to E Ernest Curry and not me, I think. I like your ninja fish though.

To reiterate my earlier point, I think if I'm going to overpay for substandard materials and workmanship with a questionable black ops tactical operator ninja magic sales pitch, I'll just buy another Emerson.

For what it's worth, in honor of this thread I switched to this knife when I got home today and I actually really like it (I should really take a current photo that shows the .45 ACP brass I replace the thumb disk with, though):
