LOTAR knives

Opinions are just that, these are defensive knives and not for everyone. Some who have fought in combat or carry for defense as law enforcement may appreciate the design but I can assure you I am an owner of 2 of these knives and they quality is there. Not everyone is a troll robot secretly trying to get attention to their product
How are these more defensive oriented than any other overbuilt framelock flipper?

They're not, that's the thing. A heavy framelock with a Kukri shaped blade and blocky handle, running on ceramic bearings and in D2?

Also not a huge fan of how the lock bar engages directly behind the pivot rather than below it. Any loads on the lock are going to act nearly perpendicular to the lock bar rather than parallel with it. Looks like a poor lock design just based on geometry alone.

Company blurb is out of the Mantis handbook. Only thing it didnt have was 'made of surgical steel.' Small wonder of course, if they are indeed made of Chinese D2 - which we all know and ''trust.'
Knives all look a la Quartermaster and Mantis. The blurb is in the usual operator style as often seen before.

I'm going to have to ask what both of your mall ninja qualifications are, if you're questioning an operator whose ops are so black that he goes by just a number. Who are you two to use your logic and reasoning and whatnot to question "300"? How black was your blackest op? What is the largest number of enemies you have dispatched with a single shuriken throw at the food court?

My blackest op so far was laughing at a Filtrum post. I think that qualifies me.

Looks like a pretty lousy fighting knife AND a lousy knife to carry in the field.

Whoever is trying to put these on Israeli soldiers should be aware they are essentially handicapping them by making them carry extra worthless weight.

I’m sure this knife is so effective though that It is the ONLY item an Israeli commando has to carry on his way to pick up shawarma from the wrong side of town. Thereby decreasing his full combat load to the weight of one hard use folder on ceramic bbs.

I can really tell an operator put his heart into making sure this is a true hard use knife. After all they are on the 3rd version and still the knife runs on bearings making sure that an Operator’s thumb never tires.

Lol. When F filtrum doesn't post for a while I always worry that he has:

  1. He has found a tactical browser add-on that only displays black text on a black background, so he thinks we've all gone silent
  2. He finally realized his dream of coating everything in his life with vantablack and now is trapped in his home, unable to find an exit in the total void of light-sucking darkest dark that he created

I've seen some over-the-top reviews of Lotar that all use similar language (bad ass). The Calif. Sec. of State has a listing Lotar Inc, which has a president with the first name of Nir (mentioned in the reviews as an Israeli super warrior) who is also the only director. The street view shows a commercial/industrial area with no signage.

And, really, this is a pretty ordinary mall-ninja knife with bizarre grinds and a skull-and-bones Jolly Roger printed on the blade.

My sense is that this is all BS marketing suddenly brought to us by a couple new posters.

It is another quartermaster type brand from the same rip off person Jared West. Stay far away. He's a con artist. This is very real truth. Your funding a psycho, lier and scammer. False advertising at its finest.

There are alot of threads about Jared and his scams. Do a search. This is no different.

He advertises to very nieve people who believe this crazy nonsense. Jared also lives in California where he imports his Chinese made knives. Did someone get the po box. Didn't see it on the web page or Instagram.

If you look they have alot of paid followers on the Instagram just like quartermaster.

The guy from Israel is just the front man. Not Jared. He's basically the sales face for the Chinese made knives that Jared imports.

When you live in Israel you have to join the military at age 18 at which point you become an Israeli Commando.

Price of living in Israel is so high that the guys can’t afford life once they get out of the military.

So to the Israeli dude behind this likely reading my post, I get it you’re a hustler and you need to make some money. Military machismo sells well in America.

I can tell by the designs that you have artistic talent but little idea what makes a good knife.

Nice sheath bro.

Still respect to you for putting all the effort in. Your folder looks heavier than a Merkava 4 though. Have you thought of teaming up with a designer, that might be the Za’atar your recipie needs.

Its too bad because there are some okay looking knives supposedly comming from Israel. Some of the DUSTAR knives doesnt look half bad.
I dont have a DUSTAR though, so can only go by looks, as Im not familiar with neither quality, blurb nor actual country of manufacture.

Then again, there are some like the ISAK knives and of course the below.

I shall call it ''The Zohan.'

The bit you quoted should be attributed to @Ernest Curry and not me, I think. I like your ninja fish though.

To reiterate my earlier point, I think if I'm going to overpay for substandard materials and workmanship with a questionable black ops tactical operator ninja magic sales pitch, I'll just buy another Emerson.

For what it's worth, in honor of this thread I switched to this knife when I got home today and I actually really like it (I should really take a current photo that shows the .45 ACP brass I replace the thumb disk with, though):

Ah, so this is thread where the pic originated from

He did a good interview on Emerson's podcast a while back. Seemed sincere, enough. I picked up a folder, and it's well made, no issues. They aren't made in Israel, and ship from So. Cal. Prob OEM'd from one of the Chinese Manufacturers (WE, Reate, etc).
Did he say in the podcast that they were not made in Israel?

That design is "Lotar Knives", not "LOTAR COMBAT", which is the subject of this thread. "Lotar Knives", from their facebook page, is from 2005, and based out of Poland.

I have not heard of, nor seen this company before, but I thought I'd post a pic from their website... this fixed model is about $400 and 3v.
The overly tactical nature of the sales pitch has me very wary.
The folding knife they make in d2 also has me really doubting their expertise, since d2 is NOT very tough, and imho, not a good choice for a hard use folder (even if it is d2 from the USA)

D2 not tough - compared to what?
I of course dont know what you compare to (taffy?) but I have several D2 (and A2) knives and used them for example for hunting for years. They keep up well with skinning deer, wild boar, Kudu, Zebra, Warthogs etc.
Dozier and his customers seem to be okay with D2 as well.
Im not having a dig at you - merely curious.
