@Bladeite I tryed to warn you about the purple blanket.....

i have a kabar. its a nice knife but compared to my ESEE's the sheath's retention isnt very good and the coating wears off easy.

I regret to re-post this question, but I'll do it anyway. What is the knife in the top left of your pic Bladite? Is it still in production? Thanks.

God bless,
Adam

That is the Reinhardt/Becker Kukri. No, it is no longer produced. It was a collab between Ethan and Hank Reinhardt. Goggle Hank for some interesting reading. I just got mine the day before yesterday from a private collector. They were manufactured by Blackjack, in Effingham Ill. Most were made of 440C stainless steel, but some (like mine, I think) were made of Carbon. I have the sterile gray enamel epoxy on mine, its almost flawless. There was an undetermined amount made, so, no one really knows how many are in circulation.

It is a devastating chopping tool, I done a chop test of al the big Beckers in this thread, http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=784781&highlight=half+moon+ridge.

The RBK was the most capable chopper there, perhaps too much, it kept getting buried in the Poplar so deep, I would have to break position to retrieve it. Against another living creature, I really don't want to think about that, honestly. Its then, well balanced, and has the right curves in the right spots.

There are a few users out there, but I believe there was one on evilbay, that went for $250 a few days ago(?). Either way, I am happy to have mine, for sure.

PS, the history and specs on all of the blades in Bladite's pic can be found in the Becker forum FAQs, Bladite done an excellent job preparing info on all Becker knives.

I had the 440 RBK , I was not a fan of it to be honest and I cant remember if I traded it on BF or sold it on Fleabay ?? that was about 2yrs ago .... now the Carbon version looks larger b/c my RBK was a tad smaller

Hey Moose, when does that piece of junk RSK MKII ship out? I might have to get one to laugh at it...yeah, that's it...laugh at it.;)

Get a new BK2, you won't have that issue...but the coating will still wear pretty easy....

Darn Darn Darn. I wish I had not stumbled upon this thread. I'm now out $109.00 because of it. I'll post pictures when it gets here. Darn...Darn...Darn.

January, but don't worry, you can't afford it without selling some of your New In the Box ESEE knives. If figure you got at least 3-4 that have never cut paper laying around you can sell on the exchange, and now that you got some contest swag coming, thats just about what you would have to sell to afford a fine, well made, well designed knife like the Ritter/Becker.

No doubt of RAT/ESEE popularity... the most sold knife on the used exchange.

LOL:D

lol, good one.

I'd have to sell my Izula to afford the aftermarket Micarta scales it should have came with in the first place. Then again, I might get used to the melted down LEGO handles.

Thanks for the info Moose. ESEE you need to make one of those. I don't need hype, all I want is that knife, by a reliable manufacturer, made of reliable materials. It's simply made of amazing.

Should have come with? Geez, there enough micarta in just 1 Kabar/Becker micarta to make 3 of those ESEE handles, that are so thin they only have one side.

But here's the rub, I can buy 1 set of K/B micarta, and it will fit on my BK2, BK3, BK4, BK5, BK6, BK7, BK9, BK10, my RBK and BK12. Watchoo got to say now, huh?

LOL:D:D

That's because they didn't want to confuse you beckerheads on which end to hold. A new handle would have resulted in countless ER visits and lawsuits. :D we know you all have the memory of a gold fish.

Gold fish? Man, your typing sucks, its spelled LANDSHARK!!:D

ER visits? We sew ourselves up with the nerve endings of our fallen prey.

Lawsuits? Lawyers are for people that want warranty replacements for scratched paint, we settle our dissagreements like men. Checkers. Yeah, Checkers. :D

And now, its your turn:D

that would explain the day glow handles on the ESEEs, cuz they's always falling out the sheaths and you gotta find them and the colors help you remember which end is the not pointy side. less worries about the sharpness, cuz leaf littter and such dulls and chips them pretty bad (can you say Ginsu?) but thems pointy things. could you know, chip a nail or something if you grabbed the wrong end. yup.

and some goldfish can catch bullets :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-sLxs6ovD0
