Just a quick opinion. You guys are overlooking some of the best walnut you or I will ever see. I am talking about the curly walnut. The figure is very three dimensional and has chatoyancy that moves around under the surface when you move the wood. The wood is not too dark so the grain and figure do not disappear when you finish it like happens with darker walnut.
There are also some English Walnut missletoe burl. These have unusual figure that looks like a bunch of small dots and streaks. These are caused where missletoe grows on old walnut trees and the wood mutates.
