Which knife do you own that is loudest when flicking or flipping open?

Long story short I have a co-worker that I sold a large Benchmade Griptilian to. He thinks it is the best knife ever made for one reason…. How loud it is when he flips it open. That crack is everything to this guy.

I’ve brought in hinderers, CrK, protechs, spydercos, etc etc. Everything is garbage in his eyes because the opening doesn’t have that crack like he’s getting from his grip. I even have another co worker who wants to find something, hell anything that’s louder than his grip.

So this had me thinking, what are some knives you own that are louder than all get out when you sling them open?

Me personally, I love the sound of a Spyderco military when you flick it open. The full size Demko AD20 is also music to my ears. However, the AD20.5 sounds cheap when opening.

My wife can hear this one in the next room.
Needless to say, she hates it. 😠

Yeah, when you do a full wrist flick to open an XL Voyager, it lets out a monstrous THWACK. Incredibly fun, Incredibly impractical. I do love mine though. Unapologetically Cold Steel.

I would say of my "normal size" folders, my Microtech Hawk Auto probably makes the most ruckus.

I don’t wrist flick any of my knives, including this one, its loud as hell just rolling it open…without giving it the ol wrist flick.

My Spyderco Military sounds like a bank vault door locking up and it's oh so soothing to my ears:)

AD20 definitely has the thwackage. Have to agree on the Halo also. Pretty satisfying sounds.

That Pro Tech Strider does have impressive acoustics - mine opens with authority; all my Pro Techs do but that is the largest blade I have on one of their autos.

MT's also can generate spousal annoyance relatively well. Interesting thread, not something I have ever really cared much about, but some apparently do.

If he wants LOUD: tell him to buy a Pro-Tech TR-3 Auto.
They go off like a grenade!
Personally: I prefer stealth...

that reminds me of an old tv sitcom called SledgeHammer, one episode Sledge was at the firing range and the captain asked as he was screwing an adapter to the gun barrel if that was a silencer, he said no, it's a Loudener ;)

for me, I just got this one yesterday from wire edge wire edge he ships quick and has nice stuff, the Endela and the mid lock has a resounding snap to it when opening;

I don't have may flippy figgity knives, but the Carter Prime makes a pretty good thunk when it opens.
