Loudest knife when flicking/flipping open?

It took about 10 family dinners to realize the Spartan isn’t sheeple-friendly.

I'm not sure anything can be as loud as the Cold Steel Espada XL, sounds like you're cocking a small gun.
Definitely the loudest I've ever played with .

Either waved from pocket or inertially , the harder and faster ...the louder it gets .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

By the way , any Cold Steel Tri-ad lock folder can be opened silently . But it's slow , two handed , while depressing the back lock .

Loud is not always best .

This is the loudest I own.

I recon the CS Espada has to be at/near the absolute top of production folders but sadly I’ve never heard it in person… :(

I really enjoy my Medford Praetorian for this reason. Even with a very slow rolling open it still produces a loud pop (though it may not be my loudest overall). Perhaps this is from the lock bar tension, which I have heard others complain is on the strong side.

Kizer sheepdog xl sounds like a pistol slide chambering. Large triad locks sound sweet like the ad10 and recon1. Ad15 has a great sound too.

Lee D Lee D yep I just saw this thread now, and I was totally going to say XL Voyager. At least of the ones I presently own.

Not exactly a knife one flips/flicks open, but my A.G. Russell Sunfish is the loudest opening knife I've ever owned. The metallic CLACK when the lock engages always brings a smile to my face.

Stock photo, but mine looks the same (just too lazy to drag it out for a pic ☺️):

My Medford framelocks snap into place so hard when I fiddle with them, it wakes my woman up from all the way upstairs, and she texts me to stop.

ZT 0055 is a unique sound, if not overly loud. The double click of the spring-tricked flipper tab and the hollowed out Ti handles is pretty cool 😎. Otherwise I agree with Tri-ad locks for the win. Old school OTFs, Leaf spring autos and other switchblades are always fun to hear.

My ZT 0350 and Pro-Tech TR-5 SA.1 are loud in different ways, but probably about equally loud. The TR-5 has a much stronger spring and an aluminum body, while the 0350 has a bigger blade and are larger contact area when it locks up.

I kinda like how loud they are. :D
You got one dude? Congrats. Very good knife for sure...a little pricey but very solid and snappy.

My Spyderco Military sounds like a bank vault door locking up and it's oh so soothing to my ears:)

My titanium Military makes a good thwack when opened. Also have a Buck N Bear EDC Diesel that's pretty loud. Don't wrist flick any of my knives, just flicking it open, it's loud. Also have an old Paragon front opening auto, the kind that you have to slide the blade back to close, not a double action. LOUD! Also kind of sounds like it goes CLANK! when opened. It's very satisfying.
