Love my Sage 5, do I 'need' a Chaparral?

The Sage 5 is pretty office friendly but maybe it's the additional width of the blade as well. I feel like it's still a decent amount of metal to pull out, but like you said I think how the user presents it plays a very important factor.

Maybe, but in my case, it's just the office environment. There are some places where knives are common enough that they don't garner a second glance. Other places where it's not technically unacceptable, but may give others pause. I respect that. So the lower profile my knives have - again, in certain surroundings - the better.

That said, the Sage is very office friendly (it's what I had prior, remember). A great knife. Another I carry frequently is the Chicago, because yes, I'm in the city frequently. I wouldn't call that great, but it's the best I've found that meets that requirement.
