Love of small EDC knives. Whats your favorite?

Spyderco: GB Air, Urban, Dragonfly
Benchmade: 482, 440, 470
Victorinox: Electrician

Over past few years, I also learned to enjoy smaller knives lot more than bigger ones. I found smaller knives (<3" or gentleman's) are often much more useful for mundane daily choirs.

Without a doubt, my favorite small knife is the CRK Mnandi. The Spyderco Dragonfly is a close second, but rarely replaces the Mnandi in my pocket.

Gotta be the Techno. It feels big, but is actually small, both a must in my not-knife-friendly city.
Really? how does it open . I almost bought one the other day. Seemed a bit of a brick but I really like the design of it.

Any knife I carry has to have a screwdriver. If it happens to be a Barlow, all the better.

My Trestle Pines Grand Portage, my first premium steel (?) blade with CPM 154. All my SAK's have way more utility, but this is a Barlow, so it wins, though I still keep my SAK around just in case.

It is chunky, undoubtedly. But I don't find that to hinder it in any way, atleast not for my uses. I watched some YouTube videos of cutting tests, it seems to be good all around, even on cardboard which I figured the thickness would be poor for cutting. Mine opens super smooth, flies open with a firm flick, but it was actually tuned up by the seller (this forum's very own Wiz198). The washers were polished among other things, so perhaps it isn't a prime example of your typical Techno.

Personally I really like my Gerber Curve, although I switched to a LM Squirt because I sometimes missed wire cutters, mini pliers, and mini scissors. My shortest blade knives which I really like are my Esee Zancudo and my LM Crater c33tx.

We talking folders then my small 21, spyderco Techno and air or even my Micro Commander.

Now talking fixies nothing beats my Silent Soldier Ranger for edc. I love La Griffe family but Silent Soldier neck knife has the added benefit of being tough enough for utility use as well. Ontop of that it makes a wicked backup SD knife. Can be held like one of those single brass knuckles. In my mind it is the ultimate urban neck knife.

Abit bigger? Street Beat for the street, Bradford 3 for the trail.

Obviously, based on some prior post, my favorite is the Hinderer Half Track. I have been in search for my small knife grail EDC for a very very long time. Way before I ever started selling knives. To be honest last year at Blade Show when I saw the first Half Track, I was not blown away. When we started getting them in stock and I would have to check them out, that is when it hit me how great it was. It was not long until one was in my pocket. A few days ago I gave myself Half Track #5 (pictured below). I will get a pic of all 5 of them up soon! Prior to the Half Track some of my favorites have been the ZT0900, DPX Heat Folder and Small Chris Reeve Inkosi. All great small EDC Knives.

I truly emjoy my 3in XM-18 non-flipper but... my dark secret is a Stridee PT with a deep carry pocket clip, I really enjoy that little knife full sized grip with a small blade

By the way the Spyderco Techno doesn't feel chunky at all. It feels amazing, despite its small size it feels very capable like the small 21.

Another knife in that catagory is the DPX HEAT.

Fun thread. I always go back to small EDC knives, and wondered if many other people had the same experience. My favorite is my Zieba S1 mini and the SAK in the bottom pic. Close second are the other small knives in the pic.

I generally prefer knives between and 2" and 3."

My favorite knife is my Matt Bailey model 2 flipper geek edition, comes in right at 3." For me, it is the perfect combo of aesthetics, ergonomics, and utility.

I have two "backup" knives. I almost always carry in the watch pocket of my jeans or loose in the right front pocket a blue kirinite Case mini-copperhead. In my medicine bag (I'm diabetic amongst other illnesses) a Victorinox Super Tinker. I carry the Case for when I need to be discreet about cutting something, and an SAK is always handy.

I had a Dragonfly 2 zdp-189, which I lost, and miss.

I'm going to exclude the Victorinox knives, but my favorite folders are the Fallkniven U2 and the Buck 55...and fixed blades would be the Fallkniven Juni and the ESEE Candiru

Boker model 240 pen in rosewood and carbon steel, and Rmington/Camillus peanut in jigged delrin and canon steel. I love how these little knives cut what I need to cut, and fit un-noticed in the watch pocket of my jeans. Even in dress pants they go unnoticed until needed.

I have been thinking about getting a techno... does it flick open easily. That handle scale looks like it may get in the way?
