Well it is now June 2017 and still no blades. My patience has reached its end. 32 years AFTER paying is to long to wait. If you choose to deal with him be warned. Below is the last email I sent him 1 Jan 2015. My contact info has been removed from the email.

"I know that we both lost track of the other until 2009

We both agree that nearly 30 YEARS ago I ordered and paid in full for a custom sword and dagger set. (You) "About time you found me. I had no way of finding you. There were other customer at the time. I have taken care of all of them. You were the last to be left out. I am glad you were able to contact me."

I understand that you no longer make any swords at all.

We came to an agreed upon a substitute group of knives (me" If you are willing to make me a pair (2) "Integral City Knife" and (1) Crooked Shank with Stag handle, Then I am willing to call it even." Your answer "I have no problem with that. As I said, I only make Loveless patterns. ") that was Jul 16, 2011. I have not heard from you since even though I have sent emails.

A review of the knives will be posted on Blade Forums http://www.bladeforums.com/ on June 6th 2015. If I have not received the knives in time to write the review of them, then the review will be a statement of your business practice as it relates to me. With email disclosures showing this. My account is still active there. I was just online asking about you there."
 
That’s officially the longest running knife scam ever.

I hope this gets resolved for you, but he spent that money decades ago.
 
This passed into the laughably ridiculous two decades ago. At some point, you write that stuff off, literally and emotionally.

You have more problems than that. :rolleyes: Not that that excuses what happened, but ???? how LOOOng? :confused:
 
think the record on long running wait just got beaten here. if you had invested that money on apple stock what would your return be now 30 years later. guy should give you all your money back and interest.
 
Assuming the initial cost was $1000 (I'm totally guessing here.) earning a modest 12% compounded daily, well you could buy a lot of knives with that. It just gets more depressing if you increase the value.

Riffiki's last communication was in 2011, and he's pointing to Mike's 'word' on that. Regardless of the prior time and investment value (irrelevant), Mike said he'd make a pair of knives. Again.

He's still listed in Knives Annual 2017 as a maker in Mound, TX with a current phone number:

Actually SharpByCoop it is (2) "Integral City Knife" and (1) Crooked Shank with Stag handle that he agreed to instead of the custom matching sword and dagger paid for with the original order.
I have been on a fixed income since 2012 due to a heart attack and then a stroke. So I have not bought or even looked at a Knives Annual in years. I will buy a copy today and start calling him to make good his word!

Thanks, the old brain does not work quite as well as it use to, so I have not even thought to click the spoiler. But I now have "Knife Porn" (Knives 2017) coming with stunning knives pictured through out. My first call will actually be made in about 30 minutes to try and get Mike to follow through. If/when I get the knives I will update this thread with the information.
