Low Budget, 6-7 in blade

Old Hickory or Green River. Both top quality Carbon steel all for about ten bucks and all full tang. Cut per dollar it doesn't get much cheaper or better.

Leuku - Jarvenpaa (7" ~ $75)
Buck - 119 special or nighthawk (~$40-$50)
Kabar short heavy bowie (7" ~ $50)
Becker BK-7 (7" ~ $75)
Ontario Gen II Spec Plus 7" carbon ($60)

go rat its the rite move if your looking for 6-7 inch i wold recomend the rc-6 if you can find them on the interwebs for like 100 bucks

I would go with something from Cold Steel. They have a good selection of knives that are not real expensive.

Been said before but I would go with the Mora or Old Hickory. Can't tell you how many big fish I have butchered with an Old Hickory knife. The carbon steel takes an edge and is easy to maintain.
