Low Impulse Control Bowie-edited to add brief video

J W, here's what Sam had to say this morning.
Sam Owens said:
I generally prefer a very small micro-bevel (nearly microscopic) to a completely flat grind that comes to its own zero edge...I'd say I prefer a saber grind with the ground bevels coming up higher toward the spine than most "scandi" blades I see.

Cool. I've never had particularly good luck with textbook scandi grinds-I tend to do a flat-to-convex hybrid if I'm not doing a full convex or flat/hollow with edge bevel. Looking forward to seeing it.

This is what it ended up like by the end of '06. Yes, that foregrip is far enough forward to change mags.

Forward grips have always been an issue on the AK platform. Looks like yours is way forward to avoid mag change issues. You lucky bastard!!! I can tell by the photo yours has the "middle position" on the selector lever lol. I have yet to fire and AK full auto, but I would really like too. The only guns I have fired full auto are...

Extensively... Swedish K with integrated suppressor, S&W MK760, HK MP5, Vector UZI, IMI UZI, Thompson SMG, Mac 11 .380, Mac 10 .45acp

Fired more than a few times... Spanish CETME belt fed, Colt "potato digger", Viking arms 9mm (my Class 2 shooting range design), German MP 40, Sten

Fired once or twice HK93 with auto sear Vollmer build, 1919 belt gun, M60E3

I spent every Saturday, Sunday, Monday night, and Wednesday night from the age of 11-19 yrs old at my local Class 2 range. I was about 11 or 12 when I started shooting there. All the Class 3 guys took a liking to me because I would whoop their buts on Mon. and Wed. night. Those two nights were NRA small bore handgun and NRA large bore handgun matches. Some loved me and some hated me lol... It kinda sucks loosing a shooting match to a 14 year old kid:D

Sunday nights were plate shoots. Those had to be some of the best days of my life. I reloaded 500 45acp rounds every Friday night on my Dillion 550B to get realy for the weekend. I miss the days of being an excited youth not knowing what cool toy the guys would bring in next week. They always let me shoot their guns, they never asked me to pay for the ammo I shot. They were all class act guys that left me with great memories and more trigger time behind full autos than most soldiers.

All please note that that AK was in theater I do not own it or any other ak lol

Cumaru, Brazilian Teak, Dipteryx odorata: Looks beautiful, and the wood database says the grain is interlocked and dense so it is hard and waxy feeling and difficult to work. Makes the way it flows in this blade even more impressive. Add that to the incredible job JW does on full Convex even when the blades have a lot of curves like my Scorpion and it does indeed look gorgeous in an almost organic way. I don't think a machine could make a blade even close to it. It takes the technical part of knife making and really ups the art part of the knife makers ART! I really need to save up more $$ so I can get another blade from JW. The Scorpion and my IBBB swap off as the knife I carry daily depending on if I will probably need a work knife (IBBB) or if it is defense knife day (Scorpion)

Im Kinda fond of this purdy lil thang myself! It gets equal time as my Micro Bowie depending on where im going and what im doing:thumbup:

Hehe NDog, I can see I'm not the only one swapping out depending on the day's tasks. :D That is another gorgeous blade. I love the shape of it. Your sheath have a magnet in it just to keep things all held together easily too?

be keerful, ndoghouse, you could poke sumboddys eye out with that purdy thang!

Yep! Its definitely made fer der eye pokin! Its sharp as heck too. Ive yet had to sharpen it.

Yes is does have a maggit inside the sheath. Thats a really nice feature too. When I got it he said it had one but I couldnt find it. Later I discovered it. The sheath is very well made:thumbup: If you lived closer we could swap out EDC's:D. Love the beaver tail.

The Beaver tail sheath Pugs made for the IBBB is awesome. One of my concerns was that if the sheath was too high or low then because we gals have narrower waists with wider hips than guys the hilt might wind up stabbing my in the ribs whenever I sat down. But he got the drop from the belt just right and added a real slight tilt to the belt loop so it sits perfectly and slides right past the ribs when I sit instead of poking me. Amazing how many who love HI's handmade style are extremely talented folks with their own skills. :)

Hey maybe we could have one of the reality tv shows. HI Folks Got Talent?

I could sing my rendition of Moon River, it'll make ya cry seriously. I don't sing too good.

Bookie could find him a pretty gal in one a them swimming suits and tie her to one of them thar wheels and throw khuks at her and hopefully fingers crossed not stick her.

I'll think up some other acts for others, I think I'm onto something here.
