Low-priced Chopper?

I understand the "can't afford a Busse... yet" part, same thing here.

I suggest a RD9 or a khukuri from Himalayan Imports, both will be nice, effective and the sellers, Justin at Rangers and Yangdu at HI are great to deal with.

I have owned an RD7 and RD9, also own a Ka bar Cutlass and a Browning Barker & Crowell Comp of them all the Browning is the best chopper IMHO with the Ka bar coming in a close second. The Browning will also throw some serious sparks with my firesteels as the edges aren't rounded in any way. I got mine for less than 100.00 on ebay, this knife really gives alot of bang for the buck.

I'll have to agree with Fred A on this. The Browning Crowell/Barker Competition knife is a heck of a chopper, feels good in the hand, and comes with a nice leather sheath. I think it was well worth the money I spent on it. I would recommend it to anyone, you won't be dissappointed.
