Recommendation? Lubricants for CRK folders…?

Hey guys. I’ve always used the included grease that’s come with the knives. My current users are a large inkosi, a large sebenza 21 and a large sebenza 31.
I tried oil in a buddies large inkosi and I disliked the feeling. It was almost like nails on a chalk board. I however am wondering if there’s a lubricant out there that can get the knife smooth feeling like the grease but without the sticky “hydraulic” feeling. More of a free feeling… if that makes sense.

I've used KPL & Gunny Glide in my CRKs.. both seemed to work well enough.. definitely not "nails on a chalk board".. but I still prefer the CRK grease in a CRK for that "hydraulic" feel, which I've found gets a lot more "free feeling" as the knives continue to break in. Maybe a thicker viscosity Gunny Glide or KPL Heavy would bridge the gap nicely?

I use the crk grease now, simply because a model I bought recently came with it. I generally just use the clp that gets used on all the knives and guns. My 21 often runs dry too, and it makes little if any difference. Think most people overthink this

I prefer grease over oil. I’ve always used the flourinated CRK grease
Now that being said, you’ve got me wondering how some Cherry Balmz would work in the Sebenza.

CRK says the grease lubes and protects the pivot assembly and other products should not be used. That's why they include a tube with every knife.

I use Krytox 202 or 203. These viscosity charts list some that might be offered for sale in the smaller tubes. Of course this stuff isn't cheap.

S SuzukiGS750EZ yeah, 205 oil viscosity is 160 cst @ 40°C. 202 oil viscosity is 15 cst @ 40°C & 203 oil viscosity is 30 cst @ 40°. 202 is very close to the factory grease if not dead on. 203 does work though. I'm looking at the big river site & they have 202 part# D12428294 in stock.

CASSIDA GREASE CLEAR2 currently but have used Elna sewing machine oil, Nano Oil 5W, Krytox, CRK Grease, QBike (wax based), some form of marine grease I cant even remember…

I have always been happy with just using sewing machine oil on my knives, guns and clocks. Grease attracts too much debris.

Since I use my CRK's for food lots of times, I generally just rinse with warm water, and have had no issues,,,No grease or oil..Sometimes when getting a used CRK I will disassemble, clean, (WD-40) and maybe a drop of break free oil...

When I buy a filthy knife, (often for me) the first thing that happens is it hits the ultrasonic cleaner. A couple of drops of Dawn and a little vinegar does wonders. I can't stand a dirty knife any more than a dull one.

I use and reapply the CRK grease whenever I disassemble for cleaning, and occasionally apply a drop of Benchmade Blue Lube between deep cleans if needed.
