Recommendation? Lubricants for CRK folders…?

I think the crk grease is the best, but the Finish Line grease is the nearest facsimile. I prefer the latter but only because the syringe style applicator is more convenient. One tube is a lifetime--nay, an heirloom supply, no matter how many CRKs you own or what dissembly fetish you may entertain.

I realized that after the fact. I’m thinking I’d use it up in no time and use the syringe to put CRK grease in it. But, that ain’t happening anytime soon. I thought about emptying it, boy that was a dumb thought. What I have done is to shoot some Finish Line in the CRK tube and mix them up. That works for me.

I actually use the CRK grease on all my knives with washers. I live in an especially hot environment and it doesn't run out like others, it stays put.

I haven't found any compelling reason to change things out.

I use CRKs grease when I break my knives down but inbetween I just use a few drops of CLP. The key for them being smooth to me is making sure the ceramic ball is clean.

I use the grease that comes with them. I have four CRKs now, and I haven't taken them apart enough to use up even one tube. I have a needle oiler that I fill with Slip 2000 that I use for most of my knife lubrication.

3 in 1 oil every time
3in1 is where I experienced the most amount of migration. even with just a drop or two on either washer, I found it migrating out to the pivot hardware quickly.

Have you had this happen? I'm wondering it's just me.

CRK grease.

I find oils like to migrate from the pivot. not fun if you have wood inlays.

Has anybody tried Nano-Grease?
Not sure if it's the same thing, but I have 85 weight nano oil. It is quite viscous, more like grease than oil. I've used it extensively on crk knives without migration. My only criticism of it when compared to crk grease is that the latter seems to work better on new knives during the break in period. Once that's past, the nano oil works a treat.

I drank the kool aide and bought another tube of CRK grease with a spare parts kit when I bought my LH Seb 31. The tubes last for such a long time no reason not to get what they recommend.

I think we're over thinking this knife lubrication deal. Granted, the tube of grease recommended by CRK isn't all that expensive, and I've wasted a heck of a lot more money on more frivolous stuff. But a micro drop of Mobil1 will probably lubricate just as well. Or grease from your grease gun. You may have to apply it more often, but it's not a big deal either way. As long as you keep the knife lubed.

People overthink this. Use what ever lubricant you want, or do the smart thing and use the grease CRK ships with every folder they sell.
Not overthinking. Looking for options without buying samples of a bunch of lubricants which can be costly. It's not that i don't mind the grease, getting the grease or alternative in larger supply would give me option to clean more often without worry of running out.

I can’t tell the difference between CRK grease and “Finish Line Extreme Fluoro Grease 20g Syringe (with DuPont PFPAE)”. Except for the price. 20g is practically a lifetime supply and it comes in a better applicator.

I don't know if the CRK grease does this; but, after it's been sitting for months, the Finish Line comes out as fluid at first. I expect it now, and just expel a bit into a rag until I see grease.

I’ve had my Large 21 since 2017. I carry it 3-5 days a week working construction, I’m constantly in dirty environments. I disassemble and clean once every 3-4 months, and have yet to run out of the original grease, I am just about out now though. From the research I’ve done, the finish line fluoridated grease is the closest to what CRK ships with. Good luck on your search for an alternative.
