This is my first "bad" good, bad and ugly post in 15 years that I can recall.

I'll just post the facts. This is the sales post in question http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...c-Bantam-Farmers-amp-Pioneer?highlight=Bantam

* Luckylindy4 paid $185 on the morning of 11/3/2016 by PayPal goods and services
* I shipped the five Victorinox knives the morning of 11/4/2016 and emailed him the Priority Mail tracking #
* The package was delivered today, 11/7/2016
* I receive an email that only four knives were in the box and that the box was untampered with.
* He requested I send the missing Olive Farmer
* I requested a picture of the packaging which he never sent.
* I don't have an Olive Farmer to send, it was in the box with the others.
* I request that Luckylindy4 ship back the four knives he received and upon arrival, I'll refund his $185
* Luckylindy4 files a PayPal claim against me

I know I shipped five Victorinox knives and I've searched high and low for it in my kitchen drawers where they were kept. After taking the picture for the for sales thread, all five knives were kept together in a gallon zip lock bag to aid in keeping them together.

It's the first deal I've ever had go sour like this. It seems worth posting about.

That sucks Man, paypal is far from a perfect set up. I hope it works out for you...

Though it has been a long while back, I have always known Wire Edge to be an upstanding member here and one of the few I have met in person. Anyone peg LuckLindy to explain themselves here?

Hmm, seems like he could have easily taken a pic and sent it to you. If you did offer him the refund if he returned them that would be ok. It's odd in that we are not talking about very much money here, especially when it is just a $40 knife. I am sure you did nothing intentionally wrong here. It he does eventually provide pics, maybe you guys can agree to a refund for just the missing knife?

The big issue here is that I find it in very bad taste to so quickly file claim with pay pal. That is very crappy on the buyers part. Which does say something. Very crappy indeed.

Lucky sounds pretty quick to jump to the gun
Immediately filed a PP Claim? Very strange
Not sure why lucky wouldn't just send them back on your dime like you offered
I hope this ends well for the both of you
Curious to hear lucky'S side of things

Not sending you a picture of the packaging seems odd, not necessarily suspicious but definitely odd. I mean what is it really going to prove, but with that being the case why not just send it right away to appease you. Now if PayPal refunds his money and doesn't require him to send the items back to you, well we now know why he claims that there's a knife missing. Maybe someone has exploited a loophole in PayPal's dispute resolution system…

Hello this is lucky. I have never filed a claim or had a dispute with anyone on this forum or any others. First there were only 4 knives in the box not five. It's funny the only one missing is the knife someone else inquired about buying out of the set from wire edge. This was the day before I bought the group of five. Why would I send a photo of the box that is dumb. The box was in prestige shape when it arrived. Did I tell you the box was compromised NO. Wire edge get the facts straight. Show these folks the thread where I inquired about the set being broke up thinking you had sold off one or more of the five. What is the retail for the Olive victoriox. Is the Olive worth more than the blue farmer, no the blue farmer sells, it appears for twice as much. Funny you plant a seed on this forum that suggests I'm a crook but the most expensive knife wasn't reported missing. I had someone track me wanting to buy the blue farmer, why didn't I tell you that one was missing or the shipping box was previously opened. Why because I'm not a liar. Send it back on wire edge dime that's a lie. That option was never offered. Wire edge made no offer t foot the bill for the return. If I ship you these knives back it will be in individual boxes were you sign for them. You dare call me out on this. This is your screw up not mine. How long did it take to get your money. Seconds. I think you under priced the lot of five had second thoughts and this is a way out or you sold the Olive to the person who specifically inquired about that exact knife hoping you would separate the Olive from the other 4. Your actions are suspect not mine. Induendo does tarnish ones image. You would shame my name on a forum I respect and suggest to the fine dealers, collectors and craftsman here I'm a liar or doing this for gain or scam Now I'm calling you out, how does it feel. You sent me an email today 11/7/16 that they were shipped when you saw they were delivered today. I think you were feeling guilty, why would you send me an email that " they were on there way" on the day you knew they were delivered. No I do not exploit people. But I will not be cheated. You should have the time line when delivery was made and when did I email you about the missing knife. Please check this forum concerning my purchases. A 40.00 knife is of little concern to me it's the principle . I have bought a lot of high quality knives on this forum and custom knives from craftsman at the shows. Never a problem or a return or a gripe. I jumped the gun because I got taken advantage. I hope you included the entire thread of your sale ad, as it will show the inquiry into the Olive Victoriox someone else contacted you about. So if you had to search hi and low, then you admit, you may have misplaced it. When you shipped the four (4) knives they weren't in a one gallon bag to keep them together. I didn't search hi and low because I opened the box on the coffee table, then immediately emailed you about the missing knife. Show the folks here those communications. Me filing the claim with PayPal wasn't an attempt to dirty your name and integrity on a public forum, like you have done to me here on this forum. Your only motive in your post here was to hurt my name on this forum. Tell me what exactly what your lose is, you have a quick paid 185.00 . I have 4 knives and your damaging post! Which I have to defend myself from. Sounds like your the winner here, not me.

So, you admit he offered a refund, but you still filed a claim with PayPal....

All I ask is that you return what you received and I'll refund your $185, it's as easy as that.

I did search all over for the Olive Farmer that you claim was missing, it's what anyone would do when told they forgot to ship something that was part of a package deal! I didn't ship the five knives in a ziplock because I reuse that bag for keeping knives together in one group.

So once again, ship back what you state you received - one blue Farmer, one dark gray Pioneer, one green Bantam and one violet Classic. When the package lands, and I see those four knives, the refund will be made.

I made an offer on two of the SAKs but missed out as these were sold as a set of five. I hope this issue gets worked out.

This is why I always film when I open packages I've received, and when I pack boxes I'm going to ship. It may seem paranoid but in the event of something like this, it at least gives you something to back yourself up. I hope this gets resolved amicably. For what it's worth, I just did a deal with wire edge and it went flawlessly.

Glad to see I'm not the only paranoid one!
Just the other day I deleted GBs of video of me opening knife packages haha
Wish the face camera focused better tho.
And I agree with Lucky that the email messages should be posted here
So we can see exactly what you guys said to each other

Nope!! Another paranoid one here!! I only do it when it's the first time I'm dealing with someone.

Not that I am siding with either party but the entire thing feels odd. I mean it is about a knife of $40 not $400. Is it possible that some middle man (mailman?) opened the package and took the knife?

As the seller, at this point, I'd be inclined to just refund the cost of that one knife and be done with it assuming the Paypal claim is dropped/resolved first.

I just can't do anything with this mess^^^

4 knives or 5 and who to believe?
I have no idea, but the OP did the right thing and took the high road by believing the buyer and offering to fix the issue.

That speaks volumes.

As far as what happened to one knife, it's almost certain we'll never know, so it's hard to point a finger....

Very easy to see whats up.... how about compare the package weight to what the items should weigh... not hard.
