trax did you measure from the bolster to blade tip ?
to my eyes it looks like the bolster on the lower knife is larger/longer , the blades look equal in length (my eyes have fooled me before)![]()
...Trax...Somehow I will not believe that their "tolerance" on that length is +/- .125. I'm sure Joe will be happy to get that one back for some "adjustments" to be made...
...I know you can live with it Trax...but I don't know of any "blanking tolerances" in existance that have a spread as wide as your blade suggests. I worked in fine-blanking and heavy tonnage and the tolerances for blanking out 48 inch X 4 inch X .500 stainless steel using a 400 ton press was +/- 1/32"...and that was fed by hand by the operator bumping up against a "stop"...I know that's what's coming out of there but it is NOT right...
Is a blade with the BUCK only stamp the same exact shape as a new idaho stamped blade?
Could it be the 110 underwent a slight blade shape change?
They are different now compared to early models?
Is a blade with the BUCK only stamp the same exact shape as a new idaho stamped blade? I dont have any early ones or i would check for myself.
Is there any info on the blade shapes? Thanks
...but I don't know of any "blanking tolerances" in existance that have a spread as wide as your blade suggests on a part with similar finished dimensions.
According to a post Joe made not long ago, they cut the blades out with a Laser now...no more punch presses...if this was Laser cut, then it was cut undersize or sharpened down quite a lot...
...but I do not have the ATS-34 or it's "American brother" 154CM...
$65 from Bass pro -
$65 is the same as what Buck wants for a blade upgrade, if you buy a Wal-Mart 110 in the yellow box...($29.95)...
I wonder if the 154 CPM is 3 5/8" long, too...
Maybe the tip got broken and some "adjustment grinding" was done to fix it?
