Lynch clips not the same as they used to be

I have Lynch clips on three of my Spyderco knives. Great clips and great customer service!

Isn't the thickness of the clip on the LW limited by the depth of the recesses in the scale? If thicker material was used, you'd have a nasty lip sticking out above the scale that would snag on your pocket.

As Casey posted above he did offer a refund. I didn't reply back after as I dont want a refund. As far as I'm concerned I ordered clips and I recieved clips. I just wondered if some kind of change had happened and he went with a thinner material.. since i now know he didn't i know i can just expect some variance in material thickness.

As for the rejecting stuff under 40thou. I got some calipers out and can't accurately get .040. The entire "shaft" of the clip is only .037 and .036 right at the bend of the clip which is why they feel flimsier than my other clips. I can only accurately get .038 at the thickest spots.. My older clips are .041.5 - .043 and are so stiff you can't even pull it out away from the knife.

For some reason my other photo won't freaking load to imgr. But it shows the calipers right on the bend at the top of the clip right above the hole and its .036.

I'll also add im not worried about bending clips. I know Casey would replace it. My worry is something snagging the clip and it pulling my knife out of my pocket and losing my knife or breaking it. When my shirt seam pulled my para 3lw out of my pocket and it landed on the concrete floor it opened the knife. The thinner clips aren't as stiff and therefor dont grip my pocket as tight as the past clips. That's my only concern.
