About 320 layers 1084 and 15N20, and core Mammoth Ivory, with Sterling
pins and stainless sleeves.....Integral construction except for the inserts
along the edges of the tang.

For the inserts, I used thin strips of random pattern, with a single twist at
the center of each....twists which are opposing....just for an added touch.

The blade is 8 1/2", and the piece is a bit over 13" overall.

Some memories, lessons and a few goofs (lol)...all contributed to it's completion..!

Comments welcome....

to.......well....... he'll chime in soon..:-)

Very nice looking blade. I like how you did the pins in the handle also, nice little detail.

Elegant, Russ. Traditional and modern at the same time.

Also a second on the neat pin treatment.

Joe....Thanks..! Price was an innovator.....His style is one of the most recognizable there
is...

John.....Quint.....Thanks, guys...

It has been a pleasure working with Russ on this. When my name came up, I ask if there was something he had been thinking about that would be new and exciting for him. When he said he wanted to attempt an integral M. Price bowie, I was all ears.

It has been a learning process for both of us. Russ was kind enough to include a few photos along the way.

First, the forging stages.

We will update when the sheath is complete, but I want to thank Russ for a super piece.

I need to add that there is a LOT of shimmer in this blade and what appears to be streaks are only a snapshot of that movement. Not so.

I was suitably impressed. You can look VERY closely and see as well.

Thank you guys!

Wow, Russ that is very impressive. Just a fine job. Classic and modern at the same time. Love it.

Such a beautiful unique piece, gorgeous work Russ.

Thanks for the comments. Anxious to see it in person. Russ & I were talking white pearl through most of this. I am real happy with the interior ivory move.

A tremendously elegant piece that is a credit to both parties involved - congrats to you both!
