Ken! How's it going, brother?Hope to see you at BLADE, man.
Yep, this folder will definitely cut.Almost cut me already when I followed kreole's lead... he posted about taking it apart to fix the slightly gritty action...but managed to keep my fingers whole, LOL. Got it cleaned up and now it's very nice 'n' smooth opening...been playing with it since and I really like this sucker.
I got mine in yesterday, and it feels amazing, though I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I'm a little worried about taking it apart - the screws in the handles are T6, right? Has anyone had trouble with them stripping? (I don't really plan on taking it apart, just curious in case the need should ever arise.)
Here's a pic, too - though I feel I didn't really do it justice. Just some Spyderco M390 enjoying the sun!

Don't even ask about the Mule handles. I shudder at the actions of a younger and more foolish me.[/QUOTE]
No trouble with stripping. They do use blue loctite, but mine were easy to take off. I pressed down hard when I first broke the loctite just in case, which I'd recommend to be safe. Keep in mind Spyderco's warranty is technically voided by taking it apart.
Sizes are t6 for the handle and t15 on the pivot.
I actually like those handles. The black and gray layers are nice, and it looks comfortable.
Glad you're whole still! Love the pic, too. At first it looked like you turned it into a zero grind. That would be a nasty cutter.
I should've mentioned I took the whole side of the handle off so as not to fight the liner. For liners and frames, I always put the female side of the pivot through the non-locking side so that after cleaning I can stack the blade and washers on the pivot, then just screw the locking side on top of it all and be done. I get too annoyed trying to hold down the liner plus keep the blade in place, all the while trying to line up correctly the flat spot of the pivot and push it through....Don't have enough hands and brains to accomplish that
