m390 Gunhammer exclusive being shipped to knifecenter

Please take some pics for us when hey arrive and let us know how you feel about them please! I'm in on the s90v forum knife and haven't ever seen many reviews on one so I'm dying to know what someone who actually knows knives thinks about them:D

Just got shipping info...and I can't believe that a run of 30 and they still have some in stock:eek:

Heh, I gotta find time to put together a review of the M390 Gunny. I'll probably do that in the next couple weeks here.

Ok mine arrived today... First impressions are that it is quite nice.Solid lockup at about 50% with No play.blade slightly off center but not bad at all.Fires very hard. But arrived with a very dull edge that will to even come close to slicing paper. It also has some very small specks on the blade that resemble rust??? Feels really good in hand. Will get some pics up later

Mine is getting shipped back hate to say it. The blade is off center and there is slight blade play side to side. And to be honest it just doesnt seem to be a knife that should be at its price point. If im spending a couple bills on a knife I at least expect the blade to be centered. I hope Darrel really goes over our forum knives because i opted in that venture. Not sure I would have had I seen this knife first! Im disappointed. Hate to write this.

Damn that makes me nervous, hope These forum knives aren't that way. I remember Darrel said they would be outstanding so I'm sure they will get some special attention and extra QC I hope

I thought the latest batch to Knife Center was after they fixed there QC but I hope your right CrimsonFalcon. I will be really dissapointed if my Gunny comes with any problems. I'm hoping b/c Darrel seems to be a hands on guy who can make outstanding knives. Hell if HTM needs any people I'm mechanically inclined have attention to detail and willing to relocate:D

These were a sprint run of 30 with M390 steel made exclusively for Knife Center. I would ve hoped they went over these with a fine tooth comb. Like I said I hated even writing that stuff but I was just being honest. I agree I hope our forum knives get some special attention and are perfect! They d better be, for the price!!!

Indeed, well, we know that the forum knives will be made under the new QC people. If there's any problems I think most of us will be very disappointed, Darrel included. The M390 sprint run went out under the old QC people, I believe. So we can cross our fingers that the knives will be perfect. I'm fortunate in that I have yet to get a bad HTM knife. I'm holding off on purchasing any more until I can be sure that the QC issues are sorted. Almost bought a Madd Maxx over labor day, but held off because of these issues.

Well after carrying mine and using it today i hate to say it but it has already developed some up and down play. When you shake the knife you can hear the blade rattle.Really upset because i was starting to really like it.

Eternal definitely some blade play my brother! That sux! Like Crimson said lets hope these were done with the old staff and the new knives will be good.

Yeah its boxed up and getting shipped back to KC.Its a shame was really liking it.

I think whomever was grinding the lockfaces screwed up some how, I doubt its a design flaw, Darel knows how to make kickass knives:thumbup:

Lets hope so! This forum knife is no cheap piece of steel. I expect a $400 knife to be flawless. I have faith! :)

Recieved my satin bowie M-390 assisted openning Gunhammer a couple of days ago. I as very excited at the chance to own a Darrel Ralph design knife with M-390 steel. This is my first HTM knife and probably my last enless the quality standards drasticly improve at HTM. The blade is slightly off center toward the liner lock, which is surpriseng to me,the blades I have seen off center in the past have been away from the lock side.I have cycled this knife about 150 times (open and closed) there has been no change in blade play. There is no up and down blade play like other people have noted, got lucky on that one. There is slight side to side blade play though, very slight. I took the pocket clip of to access the pivot screw to tighten it some to reduce the side to side play. To my surprise when I turned the screw ther was no resistance. I turned the screw half a turn befor I felt any resistance. For the hell of it I took the pivot scew out and found no lock tight on the screw. So I put lock tight on the screw and reasembled. Now when tightening the screw, you have to be careful not to overtighten or the spring assist is useless. I ened up settling for slight side to side blade play. Now for the biggest disapointment, the blade sharpness. This knife would not cut phone book paper. The blade grind is slightly uneven. The sharpness problem I can fix . With all these flaws, some are minnor,my main concern is the quality of the heat treat. Still debating on if I am going to keep this knife. Any body have any feedback on HTM's heat treat?
