12.5 per side, so 25 inclusive.Damn, that's a serious rebeveling! What's the edge angle (inclusive) now?
Nice. I have a couple of Spyderco M390 Mules that I rebeveled to a little below 30 inclusive and have used a ton. They've performed very well.12.5 per side, so 25 inclusive.
EDIT: My garage built Wicked Edge-like system works great with recurves.

For light use, I bet it'd do well at 20°. I've been pretty busy lately, but one of the things I'm going to mention when I get a chance to write up my impressions on various steels for the "super steels" thread is how impressed I've been by Bohler-Uddeholm's third-gen PM steels (including M390). The very fine, uniform grain structure and almost total absence of inclusions allows them, in my experience, to take a very fine edge and have excellent edge stability (resistance to chipping, etc.) despite their relatively high hardness and high alloy content.I may take this one down to 20 inclusive if the 25 holds up, which it is so far. This thing is so sharp that I'm afraid to close it one handed now because of the assisted mechanism. I'm afraid of slipping and sending that blade right back into battery, slicing up the pad of my thumb.
These will have to do til I get out my DSLR. Just been really busy as of late, but I promised pics, so for now:

It cuts like a light saber. I couldn't get all the scratches out, but the edge is still pretty mirror like. Probably spent about a week and a half trying to polish them out using a ton of stones, each time going higher and higher in grit. EDIT: It's worth noting that this is a proto of the one knifecenter is getting, meaning stuff could change from now until then. I basically have it as a test bed for the m390.
Grand, but how 'bout that tip pic, now that you're done?![]()
i hope they go with a different color than black for the handle. the copper gunhammers look so much better. or even another color to help distinguish them from the s30v.
but that is still going to be a heck of alot of knife.
Tip pic as in a head on shot looking down the business end?
Oops... Kinda delayed my response here... The same view of the tip as you'd see if you were showing the blade's centering when closed, but open in this case.... I hope that makes sense...
These are shipping to knifecenter soon. I just got wind of this from Darrel this morning.
