M4 Smock exclusive just went live

I'm excited about the upcoming TiCN coated blade version of the BHQ Smock, Hopefully the finish is as nice as the DLT Tuff! Anyone else planned on getting in on the drop?

I passed. I love my smock, but don't carry it enough to justify buying another.
 
I ordered one...first smock. Website was sloooow at checkout, I figured they were getting bought up! Love spyderco M4. :thumbsup:
 
Couldn't pass this one up. Never owned a TiCN finished blade, but I know titanium nitride is extremely hard (3x the hardness of hard chrome), bonds at a molecular level, and has a very low friction coefficient - plus it should look badass showing the grind-lines thru the smokey black finish. And M4, on the fun Smock design? HAD to.

I managed to get one, surprised how quickly I got a tracking number and it gets here in a couple days!

Their shipping always seems wack to me. Last knife I ordered included a free something...got a tracking number and package in like 2 days, opened it very pleased with the speedy shipping and it was the freebie and no knife. Knife showed a few days later with no tracking number having been sent. I just couldn't help think "Ya sent the freebie and couldn't have dropped the knife in the box too?!" 😆

Edit- got my tracking last night, it had shipped 2-3 days prior and is almost here already. cool!

Look what came a day early! I may get a black Lynch clip, this one doesn't exactly match. Also getting some lava SDK scales

Mine got here too. Hows the action on your guys? Mine is pretty stiff and slow. I didn't know what I'd think of the jade but it's growing on me. Am thinking that tan/brown canvas micarta would look pretty slick with this black blade too though...

Mine is good, easily flips open and closed with no adjustments. The one thing with mine that I never noticed on my s30v one is that something rattles? Any ideas what or why?
 
Mine flips/closes utterly perfect now that I swapped scales. It was definitely overtightened out of the box, as it had a "grainy" feel. I liked it just fine on jade G10, but unlike a lot of detractors, my favorite scale material is the CF/G10 ala GB's. This is perfect for my hands and eyes now.

I hear you on the cf/g10- I'm a fan too. :thumbsup:

Before I got it I was 100% planning on the scale swap....not sure now although I still think tan/brown would look awesome with this color blade.

I just tried tuning mine and rapidly introduced a rattle. I barely loosened it, got a rattle, lost blade centering, and the scale separated from the liner a bit. I fiddled with it for 15 minutes and can't lose the rattle and back to so-so flipping action. Temperamental little knife to adjust!

Add- I worked on it a bit more and rattle seems to be coming from the lock area. It's bugging the heck out me! Wish I hadn't tried to adjust it now! :eek:

I think you have an issue with the secondary detent. Take the clip side scale off (carefully) and the spring will come out. You can actually leave the bearing in place (if you do this with the blade closed the whole time) and try it on only the "normal" detent. It will fly open and shut that way.

and....nope! Keeps rattling. After trying the secondary detent I stripped the whole knife down and put it together again. I think it's coming from the push button and liner lock. I like the knife so far...so going to need to live with it! o_O😫:D
