M4 steel?

I wanted to chime in here an agree. I have two blades with CPM-3V, a BRKT Bravo 3, the biggest chopper I've ever used!! she's a real beast, and my SURVIVE GSO6, in CPM-3V heated by PHT. Ive used the GSO more due to its size and not being 12 inches long like the Bravo 3, and I'm still amazed on how the GSO 3V sharpens with ease on the Sharpmaker, then I strop her on White BRKT compound and voila! a super steel indeed!!
I only have one knife in CPM-M4, the BM Contego, its seen its fair amount of work, I use to work for a big box home improvement store, so we were always opening cardboard boxes, cutting shrink wrap off pallets, the blade would go through the strechwrap and hit the pallet, hard sometimes! my contego has held an edge and continues to do so better than my Manix 2 XL in S30V. Ive actually had my Manix 2XL chip after going through stretch wrap and hitting the pallet. I have a BM 710 in D2, I had to use it to pry out a .40sw round that stove piped in a brand new Glock 22 FailZero lol, the blade took a small chip, but it came out on the stones!

Some people have start checking out Z Wear from Zapp which apparently has better wear resistance than 3V but may have better impact resistance a bit better than the higher carbon and higher hardness steel like the almost identical CPM 4V and Vanadls 4 E. Kind of a Goldilocks steel.
"Goldilocks steel" is exactly how I would describe cpm m4.

cpm 4v looks pretty good, with higher toughness and slightly lower wear resistance than cpm m4 - it's one I wouldn't mind trying out.

For anyone interested, here's a link to the manufacturer that compares toughness/wear resistance of some steels discussed in this thread.

I'd like a few more knives in M4, but I'm extremely happy with my Benchmade 806BK-901. It is a daily carry and seems to cut whatever I want(one of the Benchmade representatives at Blade 2013 told me I shouldn't carry it, but what good is it sitting at home?) I don't have any open pockets, so no room for any other knives. :)
